Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

For that reason, I could see Feige taking great interest in building a compelling character in Summers and making a spiritual successor to Evans' Steve Rogers.

Scott has been treated like **** for two decades. So the idea of him being as popular and as beloved as Steve is now is so... crazy (in a good way) that I can't even imagine.

To be fair Scott's been a dick for at least the past 45 years

You do realize that I am not suggesting that the movie go into production today, right? I would actually prefer for the X-Men to take a few years off...so the actors I'd choose would be around 16 when the film went into production...but since time passes in the real world, that would mean that those actors would be younger than 16 today.

I'm aware of that. And I don't like the idea. And I'm certainly not the only one. But we've been through this many times before here... Just posted a funny gif and that's it.

I know...I know...you guys want students in their late 30's because that's when puberty hits. I get your point, I just disagree with it and would prefer teenager students gaining powers during puberty instead. Call me crazy.

Well explained, that's exactly how I was seeing it

After any teething issues I would love when it all came together and the leadership structure started running smoothly with them complementing each other and working well together.
Exactly. And then when Logan comes into the picture in X2, Scott and Ororo find a common enemy in a stubborn, hot-headed student who has a huge problem with taking orders: Wolverine. Scott in particular can't stand him at first. But that arc would have similar payoff in them finding mutual respect for one another -- although there will always be a rivalry going on between Logan and Scott. Like Leonardo and Raphael.

If anyone can do it, it's Marvel Studios. That's why the prospects of Feige getting to shine a new light on this property are so exciting. I checked out of the Fox-Men franchise after Origins.

I'd love for Cyclops to get angry but Storm to be above all that and just not take Logan seriously till he falls into line. And hopefully he has more respect for her early on. But by the end of the film I want them all getting on well and working amazingly together. You could have a scene in the final showdown where they've given up on Logan, but he turns up the back way and comes good.

Honestly, you won't get people to debate or talk to you here with this attitude. Just an advice.

People knowing the X-Men the way they know the Avengers now? Loving them, rooting for them? Scott, Rogue, Storm, Kurt, Jean and others being some of the most popular and beloved heroes? It's so crazy, it's hard to see it. But I'm very excited.

The future is bright.

I was completely disregarded with a meme by YOU when I made my initial comment...so...it seems that some people can't debate or talk with people that they disagree with at all.

And we can be confident that Feige can make it happen. His track record is great and improving every year.

Love this idea. Storm does not stoop to his level but Scott is feeling personally attacked as Logan is making advances towards Jean and at the same time-trying to clown him, and he's not having it. Logan could be like the wildcard. They spend the entire movie trying to "tame the animal" since he has a bloodlust and is hardheaded (wayyy more so than the Jackman version). They go their seperates, feeling like he's a lost cause. Feeling like they aren't getting through to him (when they actually are, Logan just doesn't want to show any weakness or vulnerability). And then In the climax, when the X-Men are cornered and the odds don't look good, Wolverine arrives (in his classic costume) and he completely turns the tide in the battle. He'd basically be the "Hulk" i.e The first Avengers movie.

Watching the way they treated both Tony and Steve, it makes me feel very relieved with Scott joining the MCU, because I know at least they won't "pick a side" and ruin one to prioritize the other, like FOX did.

You don't have to treat Scott like garbage to make the Logan to look cool. They both can be heroes, they both can be empathetic, and they both can be beloved.

The X-Men being shown the way they were meant to be seen. No longer constrained/limited by a director and execs who have an outdated perception of what modern audiences want out of CBMs. The X-Men have been stuck in the early 2000s for nearly 10 years now, it's wayy past time they moved on.

Yes I want this Wolverine to be more of a wild animal than the one we've got used to. Yes, that is the perfect time for the classic costume unveil!!

Exactly! For a great rivalry you need 2 great characters, not one. Cap and Stark have been handled perfectly with a real rivalry along with a real bond. Lets see the best of both characters, have them clash early and often, and then both come good and work together well and finally understand each other.

Yep. The caution needed in the early 2000s is not needed in the age of IW, while even the likes of Guardians, Venom and Aquaman are being embraced by global audiences. You can afford to take risks now with much smaller downside and greater upside.

If Scott and Logan are to the MCU X-Men that Steve and Tony were to the MCU Avengers, I will be a very happy boy.
I think there will be a lot of happy boys and girls around here if we get that. :cwink:

The MCU Wolverine should be the type of guy to pop a claw first and ask questions later. Jackman was already somewhat tamed even in the first movie. For the MCU -- Wolverine still has remnants of the Weapon X programming in his mind (this is also the reason why Charles has a harder time getting through, as Weapon X implanted Psy/telepath blocks in Logan's brain) so anytime a problem arises, he immediately switches to KILL mode because this Is how he has solved all of his problems thus far. This is what he has to overcome, this is his flaw. He also has trust issues and has a hard time forming meaningful relationships with people. The X-Men would be the first time that he's truly given a "family" and a purpose in life. Charles and the X-Men would help Logan realize that he's not just a force for killing and destruction, he can be a hero. He can stop innocent mutants from ever having to go through what he did at the Weapon X detention facility.

Yeah, this would be a good angle and arc for him to go through. It would be interesting to see who in the MCU X-Men he bonds with early on.

Maybe Gambit or Kurt. I would have suggested one of the younglings in Kitty/Jubilee/Armor but he'll probably he in no position to mentor anybody in the beginning.

Also, I would like to see the Weapon X team with some new members. Sabrertooth, Omega Red, Aurora, Sauron, Fantomex and Mesmero.

I want this Wolverine in the MCU!

I’m very confident that Marvel will find the right guy to play Wolverine. I think they’re aware of how much it would benefit them to hew closer to the comics this time around in an effort to set this Wolverine apart from Hugh’s iconic portrayal.

Fancasting is fun, but I’m going to support whoever they decide to go with.

Also, I kinda hope they take their time introducing the X-Men. I personally think Silver Surfer and the Fantastic Four should both get movies before a new X-Men film.

They could build up to the X-Men movie similarly to how they built up to the Avengers. Introduce Wolverine in a Wolverine vs Hulk movie, Rogue in Captain Marvel 2, and Storm in Black Panther, in addition to post credits scenes and maybe some introductory cameos from the rest of the burgeoning team.
