Jean Grey - Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody)

Both amazing young actors (rising stars, starred in a number arthouse films) who exhibit all of the right qualities to portray these characters in the MCU.

Also helps that Lucy resembles Cockrum's Jean from early Claremont. :yay:
Both are good choices. :cwink: Ansel would be awesome for Scott, but I haven't seen Lucy in anything myself, she's got a good look though and I see she's from New York. Which is a cool plus. :applaud

Lucy Boynton is amazing. I LOVED Sing Street and The Blackcoats Daughter!
I don't want her for Jean (because I'm partial to Annalise Basso) but she deserves to be a big franchise, so I would be happy with that selection as well.

I literally just got finished watching that movie. She was AMAZING in Sing Street and her performance in the short-lived Gypsy proved she'd be perfect for Jean imo. Early Claremont (Giant-Sized/Issue #94-onward).

I think Annalise would be a great choice too but Lucy is now one of my top choices.

Elgort is an obvious choice for Scott. Right height, right build, perfect voice and amazingly talented. Baby is how I imagine Scott should be portrayed... Just without the criminal outlaw aspect. But a distanced, stoic performance is neccessary. The actor needs to be able to emote with his face and body language -- Elgort nailed this in Baby Driver

ok, this is real talk now.

Ansel would be a top choice. He's tall, talented, and really charismatic (something important in my book, specially for a character like Cyclops)

And about this actress (that I didnt know her before)....... I think we have found our Rogue :hrt:

Ansel is tall, and from what Ive seen, she seems small, right? similar to Rami Malek. So in general, she seems like a great choice for Rogue, there is something edgy/unique/dark about her, at least from some pics Ive seen. Will judge better once I see her in a few movies.

You should check her out in Gypsy and Sing Street. (Both on Netflix) Two very different characters but it shows her range as an actor.

She's 5'5 (little above average) but to be fair, that's fairly close to Cockrum's original notes for Jean's design

wait... in Gypsy??? I watched the full season! who was her?? Im confused now

edited: waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, she was the addicted girl????? I loved her!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, she's Rogue material lol.

I've had my fancast list, but the more I think about it... I want all unknowns for the main cast.
In fact, I'd love it if they do an international open casting scenario. Get an African actress currently living there to play Storm, get a German roma guy to play Nightcrawler, etc.

I'd be fine with unknowns. All of the Homecoming kids were minus Zendaya

They will probably stay as unknowns. :funny:
Batalon and Rice have been scored a couple of roles since they appeared in Homecoming, so maybe not.

I wonder if X-Force will get reworked into a proper Deadpool 3. The original X-Force from the comics was based on the defunct New Mutants members and the New Mutants was formed by Charles as a spiritual successor to the original 5 X-Men.

Now with a united X-Universe under Feige/MCU as opposed to the splintered alternative universes in the Fox-Verse (New Mutants, Singer-Men, Legion, Deadpool etc), I think it makes sense to put the breaks on X-Force so the story can be told properly in the MCU first. New Mutants coming after the second X-Men movie

I want an animated film!

Agreed! Also love the idea of casting a Romani actor as Nightcrawler (like the MCU should have done for Wanda and Pietro).

I haven't seen Into The Spider-Verse yet (shame on me), but hopefully it's a game changer that makes Marvel invest more in animation (with quality!).

I want animated shows as well. I'd love to see other mutant teams like New Mutants getting an animated show.
AMEN!
When Disney bought Marvel I thought this would have been one of the first things on their schedule... It is wayyyy overdue.

I really want diversity but the diversity in Homecoming was very disappointing as most of the characters were utterly boring. Ned was the only one with any merit and there were certainly no Franco Harry Osborns amongst that lot.

I agree on the X-Men spinoffs. Structure it all properly from the start with a very long gameplan so we can get everything with it all fitting together perfectly. I doubt there are many better than Feige with this kind of responsibility.

who would be a good choice for Xavier and Nightcrawler? I think these would be interesting choices:

David Oyelowo - Xavier

Corbin Bleu - Nightcrawler

I haven't seen Corbin Bleu since High School Musical! lol

I want full on performer Nightcrawler. Show him in a circus bringing joy to the audience but treated poorly once the lights are off. Have him play up a devil character wearing red (that gets adapted into his costume). I just want sexy, fun-loving Alan Davis Nightcrawler.

Sounds like a good way to introduce him.

This. The MCU version of Kurt could easily become a fan-favorite among fans if they get that aspect of him right. The XMA Kurt was fairly close to what I want to see, personality-wise.

Unlike post-X2, I want Nightcrawler to become a regular team member after he gets introduced (even if that doesn’t happen in the first film). He can add so much to team combo moves and visuals with his teleporting attacks and even his basic looks. As well as obviously having such an interesting personality and being such a nice guy of course.

With the many problems he has aside, Singer blew my mind with that White House invasion sequence. To this day is one of my favorite action sequence in CBMs.

So yeah, I'm super excited to see the MCU getting creative with Nightcrawler's powers. And for some reason, Kitty as well.

I think it's important to have Kurt on the main team, to hit home the truth that not all the mutants look like they belong on the cover of a magazine, and the reason why people fear them and not other superheroes like the Avengers.
