I agree. But they won't go there in the 1st movie, LOL! But eventually I bet they do.
Oh, definitely not in the first, they have to establish the ground rules. But maybe in the sequel or the threequel. They could introduce Lockheed through a space mission like the comics. He could become the next GrootI agree. But they won't go there in the 1st movie, LOL! But eventually I bet they do.

Carol has history with the Brotherhood, yes. But within the MCU, the Brotherhood are not established. They lack context. So do mutants as a concept in the MCU. All that needs explained, and an X-Men movie is more than likely where we will get that context. We may see them allude to mutants in Eternals or something, but the concept proper is more than likely going to get its proper expansion and context in X-Men. Captain Marvel 2 is potentially going to be out before we get a MCU X-Men movie. It's one thing to put a mutant or two in a movie. It's another to introduce a team like the Brotherhood. While you can throw a Storm here or Wolverine there, the Brotherhood exist in opposition to the X-Men. If we don't have that fundamental understanding of how the X-Men work in the MCU, then I don't think the Brotherhood have the context either. It does them a disservice to introduce them in a franchise that has little to do with mutants, IMO. Heck, I think it'd be easier to use Rogue by herself in a Captain Marvel movie as opposed to the entire Brotherhood at this point.
I am not saying never use that stuff. But I think by the time Captain Marvel 2 comes out, it week just be too early in the process to do that. At least with a full Brotherhood. We could argue about Spider-Man needing to be established in the MCU before appearing in a Civil War adaptation. I'm aware that it's a completely different context, but my point is that they can change it and adapt a few things to make it work as fast as they can, if that's what they want to. But I completely understand your point. I just think it also comes down to how Marvel will introduce mutants. Because I don't think they can escape from "mutants existing this whole time". But that's another debate.
I believe (and I hope), Marvel will fully take advantage of this established shared universe they have to introduce and explore their characters. The same way they've been doing so far. There are characters that make sense to cross path: Storm and Black Panther, Wolverine and Hulk, Beast and Avengers, Bobby and Spider-Man... and Rogue, Mystique and the Brotherhood crossing path with Carol is another encounter that makes sense. It's not like having Colossus in Ant-man, Jubilee in Doctor Strange or Emma Frost in Guardians.
So I hope and believe Marvel will use that shared universe to help introduce that world of mutant characters they're getting now. And hopefully they'll do it in a way that makes sense.
I want them to meet the Shi'ar at some point to get Shi'ar tech in the mansion defences.Excited to see the Cosmic elements of the X-Men explored. It's the one major aspect of the comics that the Fox movies never touched upon. I could see the Shi'ar being introduced in the second or third film and the X-Men going to space and learning the origins of the X-Gene tying the movie back to the Eternals
If Carol/Rogue does go down in the movies, does that mean Rogue also get Carol's Binary abilities?
I wouldn't really want her to get any more powers than she traditionally has in the comics. If Carol/Rogue does go down in the movies, does that mean Rogue also get Carol's Binary abilities?
That would be really cool. Sort of like a "Meet the X-Men" type of deal. Imagine the closing shot of the trailer being a 360 wide shot of all of the X-Men fighting a 40 foot Sentinel. These Superbowl spots made me think (dream) of a names trailer Superbowl spot for the first MCU X-Men film, after a bunch of the characters have been introduced in prior films (cameos and credit scenes) and mini-series.

Yup. Fox missed that opportunity big time with DOFP.That would be really cool. Sort of like a "Meet the X-Men" type of deal. Imagine the closing shot of the trailer being a 360 wide shot of all of the X-Men fighting a 40 foot Sentinel.

For some reason, I keep imaging this "On July 17th, the future of the Marvel Universe.... Is UNCANNY" -- Marvel Studios: ' The Uncanny X-Men' get your tickets now in RealD 3D and IMAX 3D"
Hopefully in a few years![]()
Not a bad effort.Color edit + minor detail changes of the Cyclops manip on last page View attachment 20311
And to compliment classic Cyclops-- In an attempt to see how the classic Jean Grey costume (late 60s- early 70s) could be adapted for the MCU, I made this
In conclusion, I think it's possible
Well, the cowl would probably keep coming off anyway. Cap's is always coming off so I don't think you'd have to worry about that. It'd just be the "complete" look i.e. Part of the aesthetic. Not a bad effort.
If we got this Cyclops with the ability to take the cowl off outside of battle, then it would be fine with me. And I wouldn’t mind seeing Jean in that as long as we got a different outfit later.
This gives us an excuse to get all of the classic looks over time. Sounds amazing!Well, the cowl would probably keep coming off anyway. Cap's is always coming off so I don't think you'd have to worry about that. It'd just be the "complete" look i.e. Part of the aesthetic.
Here's a better version/V2 of that Jean

We certainly would. That's the beauty of the MCU. You don't like one costume? You'll get a new one in the sequel. The X-Men in particular I could see going through various looks throughout the franchise.
Bobby initially starts off with the smooth look but as his powers evolve, he starts growing the spikes and the spiky hair in later movies.
Scott starts off with his 70s suit but gets the '91/Jim Lee in the sequel and then a design inspired by Astonishing X-Men in X3. (Both of these designs are an evolution of the Roth design introduced in issue 39)
Storm starts off in an updated version of her Cockrum/70s look i.e

But like Scott, she gets an updated version of the '91 design in the sequel and then maybe the Bianchi look after X2 if they decide to have Ororo get married to T'Challa since she'll have to leave the X-Men for a bit to serve as queen of Wakanda.
