Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

Ohhh, hadn't thought about the acolytes, that would be fun (does anyone know if the Acolytes are currently on Krakoa in the comics? Haven't seen them)
Fabian Cortez recently showed up in X-Men: SWORD last year. Basically he was kind of treated like a joke because he was acting all high and mighty and Magneto barely remembered who he was. It was amusing to say the least lol.

And for an Endgame type of event, I wouldn't want to see a big bad guy like Apocalypse. I would like to see a story about the survival and future of mutant kind, where mutants are divided in different groups with different approaches and ideologies.

Yeah, Schism or a version of it would certainly be interesting to see.

This is why we need that first X-Men film to absolutely knock it out the park and get back the GA who have at this point written off X-Men films. It needs a big marketing campaign to show how different the future will be. If we get that huge success, all these speculated projects become possible. I don't want the first film to only impress the GA as much as a good Fox film as that won't be enough for meaningful change and Avengers level success - which would lead to X-Men hanging around for a long time and many projects being greenlit on the big and small screen. Don't get a 7/10 with too many cards left on the table in other words - go for the 9 first time out and then you have many more chances to impress.

Yeah
My fear is, similar to the Star Wars sequels, fans have this immaculate, perfect, impossible film in their heads already made up, and there's no way Marvel will be able to Satisfy everyone.

But yeah, hopefully it's more Endgame than Love & Thunder though

Cortez started in Ewing's SWORD, then moved to Spurrier's Way of X, where he played a big part. Still seems to pop up a bit in Spurrier's Legion of X. Frenzy was also part of Ewing's SWORD, and we will see if she pops back in on X-men Red, as Ewing has been slowly getting the SWORD cast back in.

Manifold is a mutant character of Ewings that I have quickly grown to love, even if Strange and Wong seem to have stolen his visuals.

Ah thank you, Cortez was always a b**** so that's fine he's being relegated to side-character, but they were still a fun team... would make the MCU Magneto different from the Brotherhood-leading Mags we got in the fox films

And does anybody else wanna see Exodus as a big bad?
Always loved him for whatever reason, I think because his costume looked very different from everyone else, and he was just majestic af

I do love the sheer evisceration of Cortez that Ewing and Spurrier did. Hitting on how a rich, white, super entitled white boy would feel about being a mutant, feeling that he should be the leader of a movement, only for his powers to only being able to boost others.

And then being forced to deal with a victim of his actions.

Like I've said, I'm not exactly a fan of using the Krakoa era in the movies, but there are a ton of character beats that absolutely should be used.

In my case, just any single 90s show episode brought to life by Marvel Studios with a decent script would be more than enough to make me happy. And its pretty easy to achieve that, specially by Marvel Studios.

No film satisfies everyone. I can show you people who don’t like LotR and TDK. Just make something great and most people will be very happy.

Yes, Exodus is a must if they go this direction.

I would like to see Cortez though (and to see him get humiliated at the end :D ).

I mean, if you have the acolytes you need Fabian and Amelia.

Amelia most of all actually. I think she’s a great way to show Charles isn’t as perfect as he thinks he is

You think everything needs Gambit, lets be honest Squeeks

I agree though lol

He's the X-Man I most want to see have a big role in the MCU, he got one s***ty part in one sh***ty movie, and 90's retro is all the rage right now. If Gambit is the new Wolverine, I ain't mad about it.
You can never have too much Gambit. :p

Gambit has such a massive star power.

That's the type of thing that makes me think there has to be some sort of contract in the way, to explain why they're sitting on these characters.

Hopefully he can show up before in the MCU.

I don’t know what’s going on at Warner Bros., but Chapek better do whatever he needs to hang on to Feige. I don’t want a repeat of 2004, where WB poaches Marvel talent just before we get to the X-Men movie we’ve all been waiting for.

I'll take whatever I can get. :D

If I were a filmmaker, there’s no way I could look at what happened with Batgirl and have any desire to work on a DC flick. I don’t think Marvel is worried at all. Especially considering they’ve been more filmmaker driven lately, which was WB’s supposed shtick anyway.

Marvel's got nothing to worry about.

The type of drama WB craves pretty much assures that Marvel Studios, whatever their faults, is gonna be ahead of the curve in terms of getting their properties managed, produced , and released.

Disney , while not perfect, has it's stuff together in ways WB could only fantasize and imagine they could.

I certainly agree. Even when people say they should just reboot the whole thing I think, why would you want to work with them? Some people as last time.

anyway back to x-men yesterday certainly new faces is a wonderful idea. Like, sunfire would be so cool

It’s interesting thinking about Scott right now isn’t it. Like, imagine being a kid in an orphanage, watching the avengers save New York and thinking “that could be me one day”.

and then you get superpowers and you never know peace again
