Supergirl Melissa Benoist IS Supergirl/Kara - Part 1

Yeah, the shade she had in seasons 1 and 2 looked too in between. Sometimes (and very often in fact) it looked just brown and not blonde at all, but other times it looked like a dirty blonde. It seems like it would've been better to go in one direction or the other. I'm glad she went lighter because it just looks stunning on her now and she looks far better as a blonde than a brunette.

I assumed the in-between choice was deliberate. Inasmuch as they were going to forego the brunette wig disguise, an intermediate blonde was a compromise between Supergirl’s vibrant blonde/yellow (from the comics) and a more average/commonplace hair color for Kara. As implausible as the current disguise is, it might have been even more implausible with both Supergirl and Kara as conspicuous “bombshell” blondes.

Supergirl begins filming next week. And it looks like Melissa is going even more blonde. Saw this photo pop up on Instagram a few times but unsure of the ORIGINAL source. But...

She's beautiful.

Honestly, I think this lighter shade works best for Melissa. She's truly stunning.

I think if we got this as our very first image of who was playing Supergirl, there would've been no doubters at all. That image of her would've completely embodied the character from the get go.

Look at how in this new pic she has much more natural make up with very soft lips compared to the much more garish red lips in the pics above, especially the first two pics. That first pic was the first I had ever seen of Melissa, and she gave off a completely different vibe to how she actually is on film, or how she looks in this latest photo.

She has nailed his goofiness down as shown in the scene with Barry Allen in the first cross-over, where is is saying "I don't know how to tell you this, of course I know how to tell you this" when James snaps at her. It was well directed and superbly played, shades of Chris back in the day. Has it really been 40 years since I saw him play Superman in the theatre?

To be honest, these two were not resting on their laurels.

Melissa was in New Mexico filming "Waco" for the new Paramount Network (a/k/a Spike)...and Chyler and her husband Nathan traveled around the world with their East of Eli band.

But I wish we could see more of those two in relationship action. With Floriana Lima being reduced in cast status and Chris Wood now not coming back I heard (RUMORS MIND YOU!) until episode 6, it's high time the slackers called the writers got back to what made season 1 work...THE SISTERLY BOND.

All that said....AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Look at our daughters, gang! Aren't they so cute?

I think it would be good to touch base with what was S1's better relationship dynamics. And include J'onn in there! We've had far too little of Daddy J'onn and far too much Cyber-pooper.

I have no problem with them expanding their relationships, like Mon'El, Maggie and M'Gan and Lyla, but let's not lose touch with the heart of the show..
