Microsoft E3 2009

Yeah, I was about to say, that first list sounded fairly reasonable, but the second one:

- MS is about to stun E3 with their lineup
- The new full body motion camera is real and it´s called Xbox Fluid
- There will be announcements on Splinter Cell Conviction, Halo ODST, Alan Wake and APB (which it say can very well be the GTA kiler)
- The press conference will open with Molyneux/Lionhead project called "Ritcher"
- The finale will be the former PS3 exclusive, the one that everyone said would never happen.
MGS 4 will be on the 360 and will be called Metal Gear Solid 4 Oxide

That sounds a little too fanboy wet dreamy. We'll see I guess. Especially that Oxide thing, I don't get that reference at all

N4G removed that story. The person who started that Twitter story (gamefork) also created a Sony one under gamespoon. He claimed to be playing Heavy Rain.

That definitely drives down that credibility. QD has been keeping some pretty heavy wraps on HR to an almost ridiculous degree

The only thing i can say about Rare is that they are currently undergoing a restructure to accommodate 3 areas:
- Expand the Xbox 360 customer base by delivering experiences that allow our customers to interact with our content in new and innovative ways
- Better support efforts to extend the appeal of Xbox LIVE as a social entertainment network to drive greater adoption across the Xbox 360 customer base
- Continue delivering AAA gaming experiences that excite both our current and future customers

More, they are the ones behind the Avatars, the all NXE and the rumored-but believed to be cancelled- Newton (MS´s answer to the Wii motion control), which means they are more and more an integral part of MGS and the XBox brand, not just another developer.
Yes, this gen they haven´t shown much in comparison to previous ones, but i still think they will return to form.

Well, I've yet to play an AAA game from Rare in the last 10 years or something. I really don't care about all that useless crap like the Avatars and NXE. I'd rather have good games.

I did forget all about Viva Pinata, I haven't played it so I can't comment.

Haha what the heck is GTA: BAAFLC.

WTF Metal Gear Solid: Oxide so would it be a different game then the PS3 version?

It's not real. It was someone trying to stir up stuff.

Well, as said, it's ********, but if it wasn't it would probably be the expanded version of the game, like Integral to MGS1, Substance to MGS2, and Subsistence to MGS3. There will most likely will be an extended version of MGS4 at some point, but I doubt it'll have that subtitle.

Is N4G suppose to be an official news site? Why are they referencing Twitter accounts for anything, even rumors? That's pretty unprofessional

N4G's stories come from other sites (kotaku i.e.), a sort of hub if you will. Anyone can submit a story, but it has to approved by 10 people I think. Not just anyone can approve it though. You have to take some test to get the power to approve or disapprove a story. Somehow this story got approved originally, but got taken down after several complaints. There are a lot of fanboy/girls on there for every system, but is a good place to see what's going on in the industry.

Splinter Cell: Conviction just kind of fell off the radar, didn't it? Well, if a new teaser website for the game is anything to go by, we should be seeing it at E3 next month.

There's nothing much to the site - teaser websites are like that - but popping up now, only a few weeks before E3, signals a return to the public eye for the game, which was rumoured to have been in development hell before Ubisoft promised it would be out by the end of the year.

Let's hope that, after a couple of years out of the limelight, he's still got that lovely beard.

I post this here as I expect we'll probably see this at the MS E3 conference. This is suppose to be a 360 exclusive from what I hear and it'll be a good thing for them to show considering their overall slim line of exclusive titles for '09.

It's Microsoft and it's a Halo game. I can only imagine.

Hopefully they got rid of that awful looking AC gameplay that Conviction originally had.

Hated that so much.

I don't follow SC or anything, so are you suppose to be blending in with the crowd like in AC?

Yep, Sam was on the run and in hiding, including hiding from police. You'd have some sort of objective and you'd have to move through crowds avoiding the police and simultaneously creating diversions to attract attention away from a certain goal.

Hated pretty much everything about it.

Hmm, well it sounds interesting, it worked ok in AC. That does sound like a pretty radical departure from what I know of the previous SC games

I definately agree with CLETICPRED. Conviction looked nothing like a Splinter Cell game to me. I couldn't stand it. Hopefully it is more in the vein of the previous Splinter Cell games now. However I realize that despite it's lengthy delay they probably wouldn't abandon their whole concept, though. Waiting until E3 and hoping for something better is all we can really do.

Interesting little tidbit for PlantXbox360:

http://www.planetxbox360.com/article_6400/The_Games_of_E3_2009_-_Confirmed_and_Logical

Won't post the article since it's pretty long, but in a nutshell the games they feel are either confirmed or semi-confimed for the conference are:

Forza Motorsport 3, Halo 3 ODST (Pretty much a given), Ninety-Nine Nights II (Seriously?), Alan Wake (Believe it when I see it) and a South Park XBLA game (I doubt this, I mean it's possible, but to be at the conference?)

And the ones that are 'logical':

Perfect Dark 2, Conker 2 and Blue Dragon 2

Just to clarify, this is all based on guesses on their part. I don't think any solid evidence is given, just speculation based somewhat on reason.

I think "logical" is the optimal word for that list. Most of them are pretty safe bets.

Of course it wasn't "logical" for Final Fantasy XIII to show up at Microsoft's event last year. I wonder if they'll have a similar bombshell this year? Can't wait to find out.

I hope its something that makes ppl question if their lives are worth it. Like last yrs FFXIII announcement. I loved that announcement and i dont even plan on buying the game.

Wow! lol. Crazy thing to say, but I think I get what you mean. Like all the ridiculous Playstation fanboys who were acting like they had been personally betrayed and Squeenix had "dishonored" themselves. :hehe:

Yeah, that would be great to see again.

Haha, thats what i meant, i was referring to a specific post made by someone about the FFXIII 360 announcement. He said something like, ' i have never been betrayed like this in all my life and it makes me consider if life is even worth it' or something to that extent.

Yeah, most of those games are pretty much a certain to happen. Main question now is if we'll actually see them at the conference or in '09.

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/14/realtime-worlds-teases-apb-appearance-at-e3/

We've been hearing rumors of Crackdown developer Realtime Worlds' appearance in the upcoming Microsoft E3 Conference for a while now, though we've heard no confirmation of All Points Bulletin's involvement in the highly anticipated, green-hued showcase. However, Eurogamer recently got an intriguing response from Realtime after inquiring about the crime-filled MMO's MicroCon debut.

Realtime Worlds boss Colin MacDonald responded to Eurogamer's query, saying, "I couldn't possibly comment at the moment," but went on to add, "if we happened to be going, I'm sure we would make it known before too much longer, and we'd certainly give Eurogamer a shout to try to meet up." Jeez, you guys. Get a room.

Not sure about this game. The developer was the same behind Crackdown, that's not a good sign
