Yes, Ferguson's coming back. No word on Patton or Maggie Q, but I too would love to see them both back.

Assuming there'll still be a planet left by then, at least it's something to look forward to.

Sorry can't find the link but Renner said during ARRIVAL's press junket that with Avengers 3 and 4 shooting back to back it will overlap with MI6's shooting and he might not be in the movie.

I would be ok with cruise, Ferguson, pegg and rhames. It would be nice if they could get renner, jrm, Patton or Maggie q back but I don't think it would be a great loss if they didn't return.

I'd rather have Patton and Maggie Q back than Renner, tbh.

Paula and Maggie need to comeback and team up with Rebecca. Get rid of Crusie and form the MI Angels.

I would definitely watch that. Pegg/Benji can be their Bosley.

Patton over Renner any day of the goddamn week.

I agree.

Phelps would be awesome, considering (unpopular opinion time) the first one is still easily my favourite of this series.

It was really good, up until the Phelps twist. Then it went off the rails.

As for the returning characters, Sir Anthony and Jonathan Rhys-Myers came to mind right away as possibilities. Maybe Vanessa Redgrave even?

Shooting in Paris you say? I wonder if they'll do a completely silent Rififi sequence.

Yes. he does. this movie is going to be brilliant.
I'm not a slave to the TV series so the Phelps twist didn't offend me or anything. I still love that 1996 film. Hopefully Voight does return in some capacity.

McQuarrie confirms the film will begin shooting in Paris on April 10, and that there will be returning characters that "you would not expect to come back."

“I may have found something today. I came to Tom with a picture of something and Tom looked at it and said, ‘That’s awesome! I want to fall off of that!’ It’s like, OK, I can see it on a poster, and I can see Tom falling off of it.”

Space station MIR confirmed.

Neither am I, but even I still realize what a slap in the face to the TV show, it's fans, it's cast (who all hated the twist, to the point of turning down cameo offers for the film), and the character himself.

Also I know how I'd feel if they pulled that in a franchise that I did love, so I can sympathize with the show's fans.

to anyone familar with Mission Impossible before the first film it was slap in face.i first became familar with it during the 1988-90 revival and had seen reruns before the first film came out.however it was intresting twist that noone saw coming.

I had always wondered if Hunt might understand his mentor at some point. After being hunted so much I wonder if there is a similar disgruntled feeling.
