on the cover of three of her 1# issues she talks to the reader,telling them she will come to there house and rip up all of there x-men comics if they dont buy the book on there second chance.recently a homage to those issues was done in her current series.in sensational it was almost every other panel in some issues.

Deadpool owns the fourth wall, he's constantly refering to actual story arcs or artists (Oh snap! Gil Kane reference!) and constantly mocking his low sales("The editor has told me your the only reader left"), and of course nobody in the MU actually pays attention to what the guy is saying, even when he's somehow watched the Spider-Man movies . He also has a recap at the begining of each issue where, the other characters can break fourth wall.

Yes she does, and I think it is extremely funny. In issue #12 her and Stu really get to stick it to some fan boys. Makes me laugh out loud every time I read it.

It's one of those jokes where you go, "Ha ha ha...wait...I do that."

I suppose so. Paul Jenkins recently appeared in New Avengers as the writer of the comic book "The Sentry" , which was kinda weird.

And Kainedemo, people talking about the Purple Man's fourth-wall breakage are probably referring to the "Purple" arc in Alias, where he says stuff to Jessica Jones like "You're my favorite comic book character."

Not necessarily. In the Marvel Universe, there actually is a comic company called Marvel that makes comics based on the exploits of real heroes, as well as fictional ones, but they're unaware they're in a comic themselves

in the case of the Sentry - well, the Sentry had to make sure everyone forgot him, and in the case of the comic character Paul Jenkins, he wrote comics based on what he thought was a fictional character named Sentry but it was memories of the real Sentry slipping though

Go back and look at several of the old Claremont/Byrne issues and you'll see the whole creator pool on the book almost getting blown up all the time.

When Thing died and the FF went to heaven to get him back Kirby was god.

Thing, during Byrne's run, met with Byrne several times to talk about the comics

Thank you to this thread. Honestly, I've never been too familiar with Deadpool...but after seeing some of those pages, I'm reading every issue I can...Can't wait.

I have an idea for the ultimate fourth wall breaking comic.

Strange disturbances are occuring in the 616 world with heros,objects and even memories disapearing or being altered. Dr.Strange gathers up the earths heros and informs them that the entire multiverse will be erased unless they can find the "chosen one" who is aware of the "fourth wall" and can open a door to the "relm of origin". This turns out to be of course Deadpool who after some coaxing presses the GLC's Doorman but first to the reader. He opens him and the heros jump in. Then it gets really weird.


The next issue opens up to a photograph of the very comic we are reading.
Then (a still pen and ink) Spider-Man peaks out from under the cover. He says that the coast is clear and all the characters crawl out of he comic to find themselves(still the same size the were in the comic) on the desk of the editor of Marvel comics.

After some adjustments Doc Strange leads them to the vault where all their origin and first apearance issues are to wait for the threat.

In the mean time they all spend a few pages reading about themselves and eachother. Spidey is stunned by how popular he is and the FF are shocked to find out how old they are.

The threat apears and is revealed to be a Myth Eater that feeds on the important stories in history. The heros defeat it and return to the comic only for everyone exept Deadpool and Doorman forgeting the truth about what happened.

Back in the very early Kirby/Lee days of FF, didn't they get "surprised" by Doom when he wanted to find out the FF's location? (or something like that - in the first 20 issues or so)

Also, Kirby and Lee tried to attend Reed and Sue's wedding but weren't allowed in. Both wearing tuxes and top hats if I remember correctly.

Pretty much the all the Joe Kelly issues 1-33, -1, 0, Daredevil Annual, Death Annual are important, plus Deadpool vol 2 1-4 is important, to understand his quasi relationship with Siryn.

Yeah, I know, its a bit of a broad list, but hell its Deadpool, everything's good

the DP golden era were his two original miniseries, and his ongoing series. The ongoing series goes a little down hill after Joe Kelly left, but there are highlights like the Thor arc, and the Rhino stuff. But avoid Weapon X and Funeral for a Freak
