It's microtransactions under another guise. You can technically grind out all the Krypt stuff (as well as technically get Frost for free if Chapter 4 of story mode works for you*) or you can bypass all that and just buy the character, buy the koins, hearts and souls to skip having to grind anything. It's mobile game free-to-pay mechanics. The thing is, it isn't microtransactions necessarily. There are some insane grinding requirements for stuff.
Shao Kahn might get the DLC treatment. It's hard to say. They never released the alternate Scorpion skin in MK10 though.so is there no way to unlock Shao Kahn other than the preorder bonus ( which I missed )?
I saw that the game was already $10 off, so I bit the bullet and ordered it (for Xbox). should get it tomorrow.
thanks.Everyone has a single fatality unlocked. I think you have to unlock the rest of them and brutalities, at least some of which are in the Krypt. Not sure how many each has though.

oh, thanks. On switch he’s available in the store for 4.99
I like the krypt's areas/environments , random explorer stranger character and some voice guidence by Shang Tsung but I really don't like having to do stuff in other modes to get keys and other items to unlock certain areas!
can you spend the in-game currency to buy something ( outfit, gear, move, etc. ) outright or is it all done buy random loot box?
thanks.Outside of the premium store, which is five or six items periodically swapped out, it is just random unlocks from the Krypt and Towers of Time for the most part. You'll receive none from Klassic TowersTowers, just character endings. Tutorials though will give you a skin per character.
thanks.
so doing the Klassic Towers, you don't get any in game currency or points that you can use in the Krypts?
Konquest mode was underrated. It was like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic but in the MK universe before the original game. It's been a long time since Deception and so there's so much potential to use that as a template and improve upon.
Instead of an earth realm character like Shujinko as the only option though, imagine there being classes/styles to choose from like Lin Kuei, Shirai Ryu, Tarkatan etc. It could be it's own timeline or just be set during Konquest's story but at other places while Shujinko is doing his thing.
Ed Boon has said in different interviews recently that he would love to expand into different genres to show that he and his teams aren't just about fighting games or even that MK can just be a fighting franchise. So I hope he remembers Konquest or Shaolin Monks and have ideas of potential new game directions.
