It doesn't take a microspope or even a pair of bifocals to see that everything that made Spider-Man popular & so widely loved has been destroyed.
He was relatable. We could all identify with him.I still can
Now he lives in a luxury apartment/superhero headquarters & wears a costume that probably cost more than some houses. Umm last i checked he wasn't enjoying it too much and still wants to move out when he saves up the money
He was devoted to his family. still is.. remember, its aunt may who said he should and was ok with unmasking himself
Now he has willingly put them in the crosshairs of oh, every bad guy in the world. it was a decision made by his family
He was his own man. still is.. but was missguided by someone he could trust, but hes going to be switching sides soon
Now he takes orders & plays flunky, even if he knows in his heart he's wrong, just to gain approval. not for long
He had cool powers, but was still just a regular guy.
Now he's a monster. get over it, hes still as much as a regular guy can be who has spider powers, has grown 4 extra arms, had a living costume controling him, been cloned, been turned into a human spider, turned into a hulk, had the powers cosmic, had his parent's killed by a nazi, and had his first true love die at the hands of his arch nemesis only to find out that she had babies with him 10 years after her death when her children came a knocking on his door
He had an AWESOME costume. still does... and hes getting his awsome black one back now
Now he looks ridiculous. iron spidey is growing on me.. but since black is back, its not lasting long
He was smart. still is
Now he can't seem to go 5 minutes without doing something stupid. your opinion
He had arguably the greatest rogues gallery ever. don't see where that's changed
Now he fights vampires who want to drain his "totemistic" powers. not the first supernatural villains hes ever had
He made money off the very publisher who went out of his way to villify him.
Now he can never do that again. o get over it.. jameson's always been a scrooge.. they havent been buddy buddy for a long time
He balanced his superhero career with maintaining some semblance of a normal life, always keeping Spider-Man & Peter Parker's worlds separate.
Now he can't. i find that interesting to see, but like i said.. it wont last long
He lived by the credo/mantra "With great power comes great responsibility."
Now his motto seems to be "Whatever Tony says, goes." he's yet to deny his power or responsiblilty.. if anything he has more of both then ever
And for the record, we're not ripping on anyone for enjoying the stories. I still do. Some things are still being done right. But to say that absolutely nothing has been done wrong? To say we're overreacting by voicing our displeasure? I love living in America but I'll be the first to tell you I don't agree w/the majority of Bush's moves. And to me, that's what JQ is; the George W. Bush of Marvel. And I'm counting the days until he's out of office & they can repair the damage he's done. i dont agree with alot of changes.. and can't stand joey Q.. but at least were getting new stories.. rather then the boring "back to formula stuff that came out at the end of the 90's during the relaunch... wich was exactly what people are wanting now.. but it was boring.. nothing relevant ever happened
