Movie Stuff You Only Now Just Realized - Part 7

We'll soon have not one but TWO sci-fi comedies starring Batman actors playing clones, Keaton in Multiplicity from '96, and Pattinson in Mickey 17.

didn't technically Bale's character clone himself in, the Prestige... too?
(tho this is more left up to interpretation, some say clone, some say twin)

tho, that wasn't a "sci-fi comedy"...

In the movie Flicka Alison Lohmann was 27 playing a 16 year old. I was actually shocked by this fact as I never would have guessed she wasn't close to the characters age.

The are a lot of things from The Legend Of Zorro that I didn't realize or pick up on until I recently watched it.

It's rated PG
The Confederate States of America are a thing in the movie 11 years before The southern states seceded.
Nitro Glycerin is in the movie 13 years before it was patented and being safely produced.
Elena and Armand's divorce Wouldn't have been accepted for multiple reasons.
The gun that Jacob/Nick Chinlund is a Henry 1860 and the movie takes place in 1850.
The California Bear flag raised in the movie wasn't adopted until 1911.
Abraham Lincoln is in the movie.

For me this movie at times feels like a kids movie at times and I think it drags the movie down. I think the story would have worked with the same tone as The Mask of Zorro and been a better movie.

A couple bonus Jonah Hex realizations. I was going through stuff in storage and found my JH DVD which I had forgotten I even owned. I know for a fact this has been in storage for almost 13 years. I haven't watched the movie beginning to end in a long time and man it felt like a whole section of the movie was missing.

Deputy Dewey from Scream and his parody Doofy in Scary Movie are both played by an actor named David :wow:

In Apollo 13, the song Blue Moon is heard by the Mavericks... The Mavericks as a band were not formed until 1989, and their lead singer was only four years old during the real A13 mission.

With Axel F coming out, I got confused whenever someone noted that Axel (Eddie Murphy) and Billy (Judge Reinhold) appear in all four, but not Taggart (the recently departed John Ashton), who was absent from Part III. Well that's weird, I thought. It's been a long time since I watched it but I definitely remembered Taggart being there. Finally reading a synopsis cleared it up: In John's absence, Hector Elizondo (playing new character Flint) basically filled in for him. So that was who I was remembering.

It wasn't until quite recently that I realized how hated Speed 2 has been all this time. And, let me tell you, I just don't get it. Sure, it isn't an instant classic like the first one, but is pretty damn fun! I really really don't get the hate. It's a perfect serviceable action/adventure for a Saturday night.

Also Matt Damon himself and Kate Mara. Fant4stic was her biggest role in a Marvel movie but she had a tiny part in the beginning of Iron Man 2.

And don't forget Jessica Chastain, playing the villain in Dark Phoenix. Not an awesome role or anything, but still counts.

I meant to add Kate but when was Matt in the MCU or am I just imagining things, and Jessica was in DP yes but that was not considered a MCU film ;) .

looking at is filmography you are right it was a blink and you miss it he was playing an actor playing in a Thor based play he was also in Thor Love and Thunder.

How did I miss that 🤦‍♂️

Besides M. Night himself, pretty sure no one has acted in more Shyamalan movies than Bruce Willis.

Super random: Predator 1987, Mac uses a safety razor in the chopper en route to the drop site and a disposable razor when in the jungle.

I'm making my way thru Squid Game 2 and Black Doves at the same time, and realized that each show features one of the two actors who have portrayed Storm Shadow in the live-action GIJoe films (Lee Byung-hun and Andrew Koji)

Ke Huy Quan and Sean Astin were in 3 movies together to date
Goonies
Encino Man
Love Hurts

Jack O'Connell and Jack Reynor are two different people. :o

Daniel Dae Kim appears in two Marvel movies

General Ross’ aide in the Hulk

Otto’s lab assistant in Spider-Man 2

not only are there 2 Sherlock Holmes actors in the MCU, both actors who played their "Dr Watson" was in the MCU too. one was in Captain Marvel (Jude Law) and the other was in Black Panther (Martin Freeman)

He was also in Deadpool 2, as the dude drinking in his pickup with Alan Tudyk when Cable time travels
Though not technically MCU yet, I guess

Sorry, I know that was an old post, but just wanted to point it out :funny:

Peter McRobbie… whom I first knew from Law and Order is one of several actors that made a transition from one Marvel property to another.

He was an OsCorp. executive in Spider-Man 2, and more recently was Father Lantom in Daredevil
