The Amazing Spider-Man Moviehole scoops details on both scripts...

spidey cant be spidey forever buddy there has to be a beginning middle and end to this story just like any story

getting married with mj and having a family aka baby seems like a natural decision

don't see how this is a problem at all

Exactly my friend.

And this baby stuff, guess what it would of led to? More Pete and MJ relationship struggles/angst. We haven't had enough of that already have we? Oh hold on a second...WE ****ING HAVE!

so you dont want spiderman to have a happy family with the woman he loves?

Seriously man I'm done with you, you talk absolute rubbish.

Out of 3 Spidey films, roughly 7 hours of film, Spidey has been in the mask for about 45 minutes to an hour. The rest of which is filled up with a load of angsty, relationship woes with a ***** of a girlfriend. YEA I WANT MORE OF THAT!

Not...

Spidey can't be Spidey forever? Do you even read the ****ing comics?

That would be progression. We need to have everything at end just like it was in the beginning, forever. Like episodes of Gilligan Island.

It's not progression. It would be an excuse for a load of melodrama ******** that plagued the other films.

Get Pete and MJ happy and comfortable in their relationship, that's it. Don't FOCUS on Pete and MJ. FOCUS on Spider-Man.

And people wonder why the devil erased his marriage in the comics

Yes I do. And I want more Spider-Man/Peter Parker. Not Peter Parker dealing with a ***** of a girlfriend that if you think about it, he shouldn't be with. In the third one especially, why the **** does he love her? She treats him like a mug and is self obsessed and a *****.

I think that was the original intent of the third movie. To show that being Spider-Man would always be a test to them and it would not be easy.

Also, he did become a self obsessed a-hole in SM3

I think sam got the balance of action about right what was annoying was he kept taking spidey's mask off so it felt like peter fighting rather than spidey fighting.

best fight in the entire franchise - the train fight

spidey's mask doesn't come off till the end of the fight. if you can keep spidey's mask on with that amount of visceral action then there is no reason to EVER take his mask off imho.

THe symbiote shouldn't just make him an *******. It should of made him a psycho who beats purse snatchers to pulps...

Seriously, though, I just want the focus on his and MJs relationship to take a back seat. Still have it there but not be the MAIN focus. Is that too much to ask?

Exactamundo my friend.

it was being ripped off not him taking his mask off every 2 seconds like venom now that was horrible

They NEVER will not focus on the romance. Hollywood 101: romance sells tickets.

I always find it funny how people say they don´t want melodrama and action, action, action... Have they ever read a Spidey comic book in their lives? Spidey is the most melodramatic superhero in the world bar none. And I´ve always been fine with that.

Moviehole has details on both scripts.

Basically for SM4:
- Spider-man 4 DID feature Peter and Mary-Jane with a baby.
- Vulturess was added in the script, at the request of the studio.
- Vulturess was a retooled version of Black Cat.
- Vulture was the editor of the Daily Bugle.
- Script was apparently pure crap.
- Raimi had lost hope in the project and walked.
- The studio also wanted to add a third villain.
- Anne Hathaway was gone from the project late last year (my guess is when Sony turned the Black Cat into the Vulturess).

For the reboot:
- The script is much better than the script for Spider-man 4.
- The script IS complete, and was finished at the same time as SM4, allowing the studio to compare the two.
- The script was commissioned as a contingency plan, should Raimi walk.
- Unfortunately, they describe the script as "more Dark Knight than Spider-man".
- The new film is the first part in a new trilogy.
- The aim of the script is to cut the "fluff" - which they speculate means no humour and a serious tone.

So once again, studio screws up Raimi's film, and now they want Spider-Man to be Batman.

I hate Sony so much.

But it's not crap melodrama. The Spidey comics don't have their focus on melodrama 90% of the time.

I honestly don't understand how anyone would want even MORE focus put on Pete and MJs relationship than there already has been. Them having a baby would do this.

Neither do the movies, there´s action, there´s comedy, there´s suspense- SM3 might have been the one that really abused the soap opera.

They don't want Spider-Man to be Batman. Why would they do that? Spider-Man is massively popular because he is Spider-Man, not a Batman rip off.

What that means is; No cheesy ****ing dance numbers. No cheesy ****ing melodrama. Taking the character seriously and not making him a parody of himself like SM3 did.

What did I say about "more?" All I said is they still will make it a big part of the movies, and you can bet your house they will.
