The Amazing Spider-Man Moviehole scoops details on both scripts...

Haw. For those of you that blamed Raimi for saying SM4 would be crap...well look what you all get...A BIG FINGER IN YOUR FACE AND ME SAYING I TOLD YOU SO.:o Sony ruined it, not Raimi.

are people this blind and reading something else? the paragraph clearly states that sony only came up with the vulturess idea... something that's far less stupid then the rest of the ideas (that were raimis)

Your blind love of Raimi strikes again!

Listen, well, read :D

The SM4 script, was crap. Raimi's ideas for the fourth, were crap. And so were Sony's. That's why they scrapped it.

Seriously, as a Spidey fan would you want ANOTHER film that focuses on relationship melodrama and Peter AGAIN wanting to quit as Spider-Man? Because the thing with the baby? That would of led to that.

Seriously, as a Spidey fan would you want ANOTHER villain personally connected to Peter?

I mean hello! Rehash anyone!

After posting along side you during the production of Wolverine and hearing your thoughts after thoughts on it...you are one of the last people that should call someone else a 'blind lover' of something.:cwink:

i dont know who wrote sm 4 but this is some breakdown that i found fr ma first showing article

Vanderbilt wrote the first draft of Spider-Man 4. Many of his original ideas will be seen on-screen come 2011; Raimi and Vanderbilt failed to see eye-to-eye, so David Lindsay-Abaire was brought on to rewrite Vanderbilt, which then led to Gary Ross, who is rewriting the whole thing yet again. In fact, this interconnected storyline was supposed to be a part of 4 and 5, but that idea was scrapped as shooting back-to-back was apparently out of the question.

It really seems like Sony didn't give Raimi a chance to work things out.

When we heard the Vulturess rumor, everyone hated it. A lot of people blamed Raimi. It wasn't Raimi. What other horrible ideas are you referring to? A kid? Why couldn't Raimi end his story of Peter Parker with a kid like in the comics? If you think Vulturess is far less stupid as those bulleted ideas...then well:dry:

Raimi did SM1 and SM2 with no interferrence. SM3 was the first time the studio stepped in and forced something and that movie was mediocre. They do it again and you think Raimi's ideas are horrible:dry::whatever:

I was never a blind lover of Wolverine. I recognized that it was not a good film. All I ever did was say it wasn't X3 or Elektra levels of bad. So, there! :D

And BTW Chase, the only bad thing in the SM4 plot outline that was Sony's idea was Vultress. All the other terrible ideas? Raimi's.

Oh wow, haven't been here in a while. But i came out of my wood nymph forrest to tell you this; I THINK A DARKER MORE BROODING, DARK KNIGHTish SPIDERMAN MOVIE IS AWESOME and the right way to go.

Think about it. Spidey has plenty of dark stories they can delve into. The Venom route, The Carnage route, The death of Gwen Stacy (MAYBE THEY'LL ACTUALLY DO THAT RIGHT THIS TIME), Harry's drug addictions, Mary Jane's smoking habit, Aunt May's death, there are plenty of ways to make a darker Spidey Epic. Look at all the Spidey titles Todd McFarlane wrote. They were all a darker tone for Spidey, and they were very popular.

And even if it isn't darker, I just want it to take a more serious approach. Cutting out all the fluff sounds great. No more crappy musical numbers by Peter, no more 20 mins. of MJ singing. NO MORE CRYING. No more Green Goblin in Power Rangers gear. Venom played by a better actor than Topher Grace. Finally have a good story involving Kraven, or the Lizard.

I say this is a great idea! Who's with me?!

...

No one?

Ok, go ahead, tell me how wrong I am.

No, having a kid would lead to more relationship melodrama crap. AND it would lead to Pete wanting to quit... AGAIN.

AND Raimi wanted ANOTHER villain personally connected to Peter.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but it was Raimi's idea to have Sandman Uncle Ben's killer  Raimi is not perfect.

You don't know what it will lead to. Guess what!? Peter Parker will be in High School in the reboot. If you think they aren't going to have teenage melodrama crap then you really know nothing.

How do you know Peter will want to quit? Did you read the script? God forbid the character have any development.:whatever:

Raimi wants to have a criminal known as the Vulture act as the primary antagonist in the film while the studio, which dislikes the idea of the winged wrongdoer, is pushing for a romantic sub-plot involving a burglar named the Black Cat in addition to another villain.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire ("Rabbit Hole") was hired in October 2008 to pen a key version of the screenplay, on top of the earlier version penned by James Vanderbilt ("Zodiac"). Last year, Sony brought in Gary Ross -- Oscar-nominated for his adapted script on 2003's "Seabiscuit" -- which he also directed.

Alvin Sargent is penning the latest iteration.

Talking about SM3

Raimi, a fan of the wall-crawling super-hero since the character's 1960s debut, wanted to use classic villain Vulture in addition to Sandman, another classic creation, for that movie. The studio pushed him to use Venom, a character that was introduced in the late 1980s, because it thought that character, with its slick alien-symbiote origin, would lend itself to more effective marketing material and a way to attract "the kids."

No, god forbid them doing something they've already done... AGAIN!

And if you don't think bringing a baby into the equation would mean;

"Oh Pete we don't have enough money to raise a baby! And you are a crime fighter who risks his life everyday, is it right to raise a baby that way?"

"You're right MJ, maybe I should stop being Spider-Man"

And taking it back to high school? Errr... some of Spideys best EVER stories feature him still in high school.

Enjoy Twilight Spider-Man. I have teenager angst and girl troubles!

Please show me the script and show me wich ideas you know were Raimis.

It wasn't a script. The plot outline was released a few weeks ago when the news broke about the delays and the trouble surrounding the production.

The plot outline released was Raimi's. Raimi wanted Black Cat, the studio wanted her turned into Vultress. Which is ****ing stupid yea. But the rest of the crap? Raimi's ideas.

Go search for it yourself.

HAHAHA you just proved your ignorance.

As I said, some of Spideys best ever stories feature him in high school. So if they go that route, the route of some of Spideys best stories, it's copying Twilight?

Err....riiiiight.

Go read THe Death of Gwen Stacey. Spideys best ever story.

Please post all of the ideas you know for sure were Raimi's.

Also, you don't seem to grasp the fact that Sony has heavily messed with and just currently heavily messed with and will heavily mess with Spider-Man in the future. They are turning into Fox. You can enjoy hoping for this movie to be great but as long as Sony ****ing with the creative team like Fox does, these movies have no future and the people that get their hopes up to only be trampled on are lol worthy.

Holy crap, Pattison and Cera? All of a sudden LeBeouf sounds good. :awesome:

So you want Spider-Man stuck in High School for 6 films. No thanks:o I guess ignoring some of the comics like him marrying and having a baby while telling others to go read this certain story makes you so smart:awesome:

There is much more to Spidey's early stories than mere "girl troubles". That wasn't really the focus at all.

That's it. I can hope this reboot won't be crap. But by reading the outline of SM4 I KNEW it would be crap. I like those odds.

Right...

Vulture being the editor of the Bugle, not JJ. Raimi's idea.

Black Cat being Vulture's daughter and falling in love with Pete (hello another love triangle!) Raimi's idea.

Pete and MJ having a baby  Raimi's idea.
