I have not seen Man-Thing or you make any effort to be the leading Christian men around here. None. You can sit there and justify your behaviour by saying your are not perfect...but are you making any effort? I mean why is a Christian man going to SUE his cousin? Is that would Jesus would do if his cousin flipped out on him? Drop it into litigation?

There is nothing wrong with suing somebody who has failed you financially. Seeking redress through the courts is perfectly legit. If his cousin sincerely offered to pay Man-thing back, Man-thing would be free to drop the suit.

I don't know what the situation is and I don't need to know, but if Man-thing has done everything reasonable to get his cousin to pay him back and failed, suing his cousin to get re-dress is fair.

Forgiveness, from the Christian viewpoint can only be given if the other person has repented of his actions, otherwise there is nothing to forgive.

What Christ is saying and it's very clear from the words, if you read it, is basically go the extra mile, not fail to hold the person accountable for his actions. It's really about patience and grace when dealing with another person and his actions, not about forgiveness.


In Man-thing's case, an example of how this would apply would be a willingness to give the person a longer period to pay him back or to not expect payment for a month or two, if the person is in dire straits.

I was talking about you dropping charges on your nephew. That is wrong. No christian should be suing their nephews over a silly assult case. I tend to think I am Christian... a very bad one... but I would never sue anyone. God takes care of those people seek to do others harm.

The fact that he's got the punching power of wet spaghetti is beside the point.

I asked him to help me move a freezer outside and he refused. As a result, I had to do it myself (it's a small freezer) and his indoor cat got outside because I had to keep the door open for the freezer. I told him his cat got outside and I went to my room.

He couldn't get the cat inside, so he came to my room and started physically assaulting me. I didn't hit him, just defended myself. I called the cops and I am planning to charge him with assault if the cops see warrant to do so.

Nobody should have to tolerate physical abuse, ever.

If he called him a bum, that's one thing, it still doesn't give credince to his nephews actions. Jonty isn't perfect, and I'm sure you can agree it's easy for someone to result to name calling. ("Man-Thing is a tool")

I don't think you should take as what he says as lectures, unless you see him as an authority figure over you.
