Naruto - Part 1

If anything, I think Naruto should have learned "Sage Mode" back when he was with Jiraiya during their time skip.

I keep feeling like Naruto really didn't appear that much more different than his previous self from Part 1, while everyone else had a received a major boost in power.

Kishi should have also really given Naruto a few more abilities that had nothing to do with his current skills set and didn't involve change into some type of ninja mode.

And I really don't like on how Minato and Itachi have been pretty much portrayed as flawless almost when it comes to their fighting abilities, and how no villain can seemingly outsmart them or challenge them greatly unless one of them is already dying or if they choose to sacrifice their life.



On another note, based on what everyone has seen of Naruto's current power, do you guys think that he could defeat most, if not every major villain (sans Madara at the moment) from the past within the anime/manga?

If Orochimaru was sneaky enough and catch him off guard he could bite him and put the curse seal on Naruto, but strength wise I think he's got everyone covered. On a side note, I wasn't aware that characters from Naruto was borrowed from Japanese folk lore http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiraiya

Orochimaru used to be one of the top tiers or close to that, However, now he would be easilly crushed. Aside from Super Obito and Madara i think present Naruto would be able to defeat any foe.

Yeah, Naruto takes many names from Japanese folklore and history, Suzano is the name of a fertility godess if i'm not mistaken, and Hanzo was probably the most famous ninja of all time, though in the series itself he's not as legendary compared to other characters.

With Hashirama's, Tobirama's, Sandaime's, and Minato's abilities shown throughout the manga (especially the final war arc), it really makes you wonder how Naruto as a Hokage could even match up to the Konoha Hokages. At least each of them had a niche that made them famous.

One thing that I'm surprised about is how they haven't revealed on what led to the first Hokage being killed. I've read on some data/wiki sites for the Naruto Universe and that it's said that Harishima died during one of the "Many" wars that took place, but given on what's been said about his abilities, especially when compared to Madara's (who's pretty much been portrayed as a demi-god at this point), I can't imagine on how anything could have killed him unless it was by means of him having his own internal disease like Itachi had.

Lol, the random diseases, that guy with the bones had one too from what i remember, it's a conveniente excuse to get a certain character out of the way.

About the first Hokage, it's also interesting to note that when he was Edo Tenseied by Orochimaru, he was much weaker, with both him and the second being defeated by an old Third Hokage alone.

Possibly, but i don't see him being the one who takes down Madara. By the way, i usually like Kishimoto's designs, but is it just me or is the final boss Sage of six paths mode of Madara a bit lame?

A tad bit, yeah. Very standard run of the mill anime white haired mystical looking final bad guy form.

Well, it's not just about being generic, i liked his original design, but his transformation's design looks kinga ugly compared to all the other villains.

Considering Kishi is a Matrix Trilogy fan, the begining of the chapter reminded me a lot of the Architect

No, he didn't die yet. He opened the 8th gate though. He probably will.

Last 2 chapters have been out for a good while

This Final Battle has been taking a loooong time, is Sasuke still going to have another clash with Naruto or are we going to get that off-screen as a kind of closing to the series like Rocky III did? It would honestly be a bit disapointing.

I don't even care anymore. When Sasuke was in lunatic ''I'm gonna kill all'' mode then the story was heading to this point. Now it's different.
Even if they fight, it's not gonna match this battle of sages that we're going to have now between them and Madara. Specially because it doesn't seem like it would be a battle till death, anymore.

The Rocky III thing is what I'm expecting too. I and hope for that. I don't want to see this story extending any longer. Last chapter was nice, though.

I think the story is heading to a point where they decide to work together. Whether or not that means they work as co hokages we'll have to wait and see.

I think it's safe to say that the franchise is really getting close, if not have already, hit a all time low when it comes to their manga and anime series.

We've been stuck in filler-ville for so long already, and over boring and rehashed material no less. It's like they're not even trying to come up with any interesting fillers.

And I can't believe that for the last 2 years, the manga has been stuck on one long continuous battle with Madara and Obito, with the only moments of levity taking place being flashbacks as opposed to actual break ins and modern day character development that feels natural as opposed to being abrupt.

Both Bleach and Naruto have been like that. Naruto even more so but both of them are guilty of it.
