Those of you talking about low the budget is for New Mutants... isn't this delay and the upcoming reshoots adding more money to its cost? Its probably not going to be all that cheap by the end of this.

It definitely would. We might have another Jl/F4 situation here. Salvaging a bad film, and spending money for eXtensive reshoots.

I think it is more about trying to make a potentially good and unique film a lot better. X-Men's track record is nothing like Snyder/F4 and Josh Boones is a good director that values his craft.

I knew New Mutants scared a lot of MCU fans but I did not think it was to this level where common sense and history is thrown out of the door. New Mutants is a movie MCU cannot make, they will see it as too heavy, dark serious and deep for their crowd, so MCU fans throw hate at the movie because of MCU own incompetence to make movies like this. Should that not tell you how much MCU and their X-Men movie will suck?

Sad truth is New Mutants might be one of the movies that will bring down MCU X-Men and expose it for it is...another over produced, no substance generic marvel movie. because if New Mutnts turns out to be a great psychological horror drama movie and a very distinctive entry to the comic book genre and the first MCU X-Men is another garbage cgi haha comedy like Thor 3 or GOT 2. MCU X-Men will be in deep trouble once the comparison starts.

With the 1 2 punches that are that coming in the form of Dark Phoenix and the new Mutants, the franchise is ending in a very bad note. Gambit probably sucks too thats why it already lost a director trice. Anyway, I hope MCU X-Men is upon us in the not so distant future. I doubt that would be delayed after a trailer is released.

Clearly there were things they wanted to reshoot that necessitated a delay. That being said, there's no reason to think the specific length of delay reflects any worse quality. The ten months part of it is irrelevant unless they do reshoots for ten months, which there's been no indication of.

If they stick to the horror side of things then it would be a good idea linking it to a similar film yeah. It’s frustrating seeing this one in particular delayed as the first trailer is the ultimate tease setting up a concept and I need to see more before I can get what they’re doing with it.

That's because it is one.

Some of JB's recent comments may help some to begin to understand exatly how much he really cares about and understands the New Mutants as characters. He simply wanted to make a horror movie with "superheroes" in it. That was his "genius vision".

And no the movie won't make you cry, however (if you are a fan of the New Mutants) it may make you feel like crying after you see this discombobulated mess of a movie that does no justice to the titled characters.

Wolverine has also killed people and everyone seems to be fine with him in the mansion, Charles included.

we all know thats not the real reason the new mutants arent in the mansion, its just because Boone or producers wanted a different concept/set, so it wouldnt feel like another movie with mutants living on the school. (that should come in the sequel, hopefully, at least for the first act)

Yeah ..Ok ... why? The movie sounded low-budget (even with the reshoots addded) I doubt it would end up costing more than Logan's 97M budget.
And the articles that said it will be reshot to add more scary scenes ... lol

The cut of the film seen at test screenings and by people privy to seeing it in private was aiming for a soft R rating. Now it's conveniently a dark PG13... Yep. Clearly all the reshoots are to make the movie darker and scarier, not to to lighten things up and add humor........

Well, now after knowing all the characters have killed people, I believe that the reshots are to light things up and add more heart to it.

As I said before, I liked the idea of New Mutants with supernatural and horror elements because it fits the story and characters, but a straight horror movie with no heart? No, thanks.

A 'soft' R rating means nothing in commercial way. So a soft R is always a pg-13 waiting for final cut.
