Sure, just like it was to believed it would be out this fall since it was on a powerpoint with other fall releases a few weeks ago.

"Releasing" is subjective. I'm guessing it will quietly be released on streaming.

Disney Plus isn't being launched until after the previous release date for one thing.

Why would it go to Disney+ though? They even announced Ghost Rider for Hulu and that's (kind of) part of the MCU. If they are unhappy with the quality of New Mutants and there's no connection whatsoever with their universe why would they promote it in their newly found platform? It just doesn't make sense to me. All signs and confirmations show that it's going to be released theatrically and even if it doesn't it's far more likely to end up in Hulu. That's how I see it.

I'm reading the news as either a scheduling thing or a decision to finally do those extensive reshoots they had been reported earlier. But if I had to bet I'd say the former is more likely.

If the WB can randomly put Mowgli: Legend of the Jungleon on Netflix Disney can do the same with New Mutants & Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle had a much bigger cast. Also Paramount did the same with that one movie that originally had a theatrical release planned. So this is not unheard of. I highly doubt any studio puts in the contract a theatrical guarantee release at this point

They could easily announce that it was going on Disney+ today if they wanted to, though. This suggests a conscious decision to schedule it for a movie release date.

I think it will either be delayed to streaming, OR if the do reshoots after-all and release it, then they will not have it will the FoM-Men world at all.

If Disney decides to put real money towards it and the time and effort for the reshoots, then I’ll go out on a limb and say the reshoots are to place it in the MCU.

Even if that’s the case though, I think we would hear something indicating as such sooner or later.

Another move I see.

Just put it out of its misery. Hulu, YouTube, direct to DVD, FoX tv movie, etc.... See the logo showing up in Disney's 2019 slate didn't mean a thing. I look forward to next year for another delay.

just release it to hulu and get over it at this point..

the original plan for re shoot was "huge". basically new movie. +3month shooting and new cgi works.. they can't make it into new date unless they make new small reshoot plans.
anyway, spend extra filming money and another 100m promotion/marketing money doesn't sounds good business move.

maybe they're waiting for Dark Phoenix's boxoffice performance to decide NM's fate.

I do think Disney is waiting for Dark Phoenix to come out and then they'll announce what will happen to New Mutants.

Just like I think Feige will wait for after Dark Phoenix comes out before he talks openly about his X-men.

Absolutely nothing surprises me on these boards. Anything and everything is being excused. "Sophie isn't wearing a red dress like Famke's! She's wearing a maroon coat!" "Kinberg already apologized for X3 and so he'll deliver a better product!" etc, etc, etc.
