compared to the last three weeks worth of mindless, juvenile drivel, todays' ep seemed the strongest so far...

and THAT'S not saying much...

Gamersly, how many episodes are you planning to give Ultimate Spider-Man a chance? I think i wanna see the Wolverine episode, but man is the writing just so awful. I mean here's what i disliked about Venom:
- The show does a bad job handling emotions and teenage behaviour, decides to simply write people grumpy in a forced bad way to move the character/story forward with jealous/frusfrated Harry.
- What the hell was White Tiger doing during the Venom fight? Just standing around? I'm sorry writers, did you forget you have a female character on the fight and decided to just have her stand around doing nothing? Oh and when she does something, it's her getting rescued by a male team member.
- Norman being a moron, not a mastermind planner who knows taking your time, making a strong thought out plan really works out.
- Venom's creatiom from Peter's DNA is an unique idea but the execution comes with such bad fan fiction. He just took the aggression out and suddenly you got this bioform symbiote? Lol.
- There was no team co-operation and this is a big problem especially how this is suppose to be SHIELD funded. Here is one example: Young Justice has telepathic communications, but also they simply use earwigs, but these guys have nothing! There was no communication between the team when Peter realizes the symbiote is vulnurable to electricity.

However i did like Tom Kenny's performance and Iron Fist. He's really cool.

Cipes is doing great work with Iron Fist, Danny was awesome in today's episode.

Overall I think it was a great episode and another step in the right direction for this series. Loved that the tone was taken more seriously and the final fight against Venom was well done.

I gotta give you that... it's still got a ways to go... but this WAS a bit more serious and a bit more tense towards the end during the fight...

like I said in my earlier post, the strongest ep so far...

I think it's getting better with each episode.

Well today was episode 4 for usm. Which featured the debut of venom. It wasnt that bad of an episode today. The 4th wall stuff and cutaway things where not to jarring today. We got some solid character movement going on with peter and harry and the loose of them being friends due to his shield work. The opening scene worked out well and how doc ock got spiderman dna. As for origin it was somewhat ok for venom. Not alien goo that took over spidey from original comics, not a alien from 90s cartoon/sm 3. But a little mixture of usm venom and usm carnage. Overall that worked for what they where doing.the bonding. Jumping was nicely played out along with how the team took him out in the end. I love the nod to flash venom in the episode. I due hope if venom shows up again he will bond to a perminment host. But overall not to bad of a episode today. Now if we can get more of that I be happy.

I must say, I really didn't expect an ep with Venom in it to be the one that showed some strength and turn out to better than the previous three... but it did...

and I'm a Venom hater from WAY back when... I have ALWAYS considered Venom to be an inappropriate villain for Spidey... Venom is a character more suited to go up against a superhero team, I've always felt...

and the extreme overexposure that he went thru back in the 90's and shortly afterwards proved my point... just an annoying pain-in-the-arse pest that just went thru the same motions over and over every time he showed up...

and when they introduced Carnage, they only compounded the ridiculousness of symbiote overusage...

I thought Nova was Richard Ryder????
Who is Sam Alexander???

This show has:

-Good animation.

-Doc Ock being a quadriplegic and can only move around with his robotic tentacles is original and interesting.

-Venom being created by spidey's DNA is also a fresh idea. This way you can just bypass Peter wearing the symbiote and become a dark spidey.Kinda gets old, because we keep seeing that formula a ton of times.

Things that make this show suck:

-The spidey team is horrible in this show.
-The symbiote jumping onto each member was a terrible idea.
-Spidey becoming Venom when the symbiote got on him was also a bad decision.
-Spidey barely web swings in this show.
-This just doesn't feel like a spidey show,it feels like an Avengers show with spidey keeps showing up as a cameo.

:woot:link? or tell wherever is avaliable

I DID LIKE THE FIGHT BETWEEN THE SYMBIOTE AND SPIDEY RIGHT AFTER HE WAS ABOUT TO ATTACK HARRY. THE ANIMATION OF SPIDEY STILL STUCK HALFWAY IN THE SYMBIOTE AND HIS TOP HALF WAILING AWAY AT IT WAS PRETTY GOOD.

-DOOM

YEP, IT REALLY IS A WONDERFUL OPTION. WISH I HAD DISCOVERED IT SOONER.

:whatever:

I think the team is lousy because they have two alpha personalities (White Tiger and Nova) trying to be top dog, and Spidey still being resistant to the idea of a team. In other words, I think the team is supposed to such right now.

I am sure venom will bond for good with someone soon enough. And spidey team isn't all bad. We just need to get more serious stuff out of them and less cheesy crap out of them.

I wish the Blob would make a meal out of "Nova". He just needs to not exist.

I can second that, any chance we can trade this Sam kid in for Richard Rider?

The new Nova. He was created for the show, brought over to the 616 and is named after Loeb's son.

So I finally got to watch "Venom"...it was the least worst episode of the four I've seen. Only because it was a Venom episode did I decide to make it this far as the Doom episode was so offensive to me I wanted THAT to be my exit. In a way, I'm glad Venom was featured as early as it...it was (it...) so I don't have to watch anymore of this show beyond any reappearances of Venom it...sigh...itself.

Oh my god, is the animation here nice. I hate that great shows get the worst animation while this sh&^ gets quality animation.

This show is not doing the new(b) Nova any justice by having him be a dick. My hate for him alone is tantamount to my hate for this show.

White Tiger did NOTHING in this episode. NOT A THING. She didn't even get the chance to be overtaken by the symbiote. Are you kidding me? She didn't fight it during any of its body-jumping, she didn't Venom-out herself...why even have her show up? If Justice League proved anything, we don't need the entire team present for every episode. The writers had nothing for her to do, then she really should have been side-lined.

I really wish this episode had them fighting Flash-Venom. Having this thing jump from body to body was so damn gimmicky. The thing should have just stayed with Flash and the fight could have lasted most of the remainder of the episode until Spider-Man had to be overcome by it. My personal preference. I just hate how Marvel really treats the symbiote in all media now as just being a joyriding blob. Venom is not just the village bicycle. I like my Venom to be an established character, not some mindless sludge that absolutely anyone can carry around, no different from how I like my Doc Ock to be Otto, my Doom to be Von Doom, and my Catwoman to be Selina. If anyone can just be Venom, and even worse act exactly the same as everyone who becomes Venom, whats the point?

So, I guess this was the bes...no, the most tolerable episode so far (it took four episodes for an actual Spider-Man villain to appear in a Spider-Man show?) and while I would like to brag about how Venom of all characters was the one character that made this show so far watchable, that still isn't saying much about the quality of this show so far, considering that this show may have had the least amount of flaws, the flaws were still too much to take in. Plus, this version of Venom isn't all that great (as I've said) and not original (they just took Ultimate Carnage and made it this show's Venom).

I gave it four chances. I don't like it. And at this point, coming in here or either USM thread would just be pointless. I won't be watching anymore of this show, save for another Venom appearance (What can I say? Better or worse, I have to be on top of all Venom appearances), and I now see that I'm never going to like this show. To keep posting negatively about this show will just be trolling, so to whatever fans posting in these topics, be happy to know that these thread have just lost one negative critic. One...have fun with the other 90 posters who still can't stand this drivel.

I'll still be around to at least read Dread's reviews. They are the best thing to come out of this whole mess.

Sure its a mess but like I said I myself don't think its all bad. If we can get more episodes like venom. We could see things turn around.

I would say this episode is probably the best so far; but overall, another okay episode. I thought the creation of the symbiote was very refreshing. We got some character development with Peter and Harry.
