The new issue of Total Film magazine is in shops now (or you can get in on your iPad for just £1.99), and Hugh Jackman is the subject of this months Total Film Interview.
Covering everything from
Rise Of The Guardians to
Les Misérables (via
The Avengers), Jackman talks at length about his career past present and future.
When the topic of
The Wolverine came up, Jackman was keen to state his ambitions for the comic-book character that launched his career.
For various reasons with the first movie I dont think we got to the bottom of the character and I think thats why, in this one, were calling it The Wolverine. It should feel like a standalone movie, he told us.
Its a wonderful idea, which is why Darren [
Aronofsky] was interested in doing it. Hed been looking for a movie for a long time and he said that this was the best script hed read. It didnt work out in the end for many, complicated reasons but it was kind of a reassurance to me that I knew we were on the right path.
The Wolverine opens on 26 July 2013.
