Hugh Jackman takes a break from filming.

A WESTERN Sydney carpark has been transformed into a Japanese village for the latest filming of Hugh Jackman's blockbuster movie The Wolverine.

A blanket of snow covered the village which was erected in a carpark at Sydney Olympic Park.

Once the cameras started rolling about 20 men dressed as black ninjas wielding samurai swords raced across the set.

They waved their weapons around and at one point a ninja riding on a motorcycle sped straight through the middle of the scene.

The ninjas were even scouring the snowy roof tops of one building.

While the security was tight, The Daily Telegraph managed to capture the Wolverine himself stepping into a car during a break from filming.

Jackman left the set along with all the ninjas as well as the film's director James Mangold.

One of the actors leaving the area showed an uncanny resemblance to Mr Jackman and was likely to be his body double.

sweeeet^
getting so pumped for this, hope my optimism isn't misplaced...
I wonder if the [BLACKOUT]ninja on the motorcycle[/BLACKOUT] is Yukio??

Wolverine vs Ninjas in a snowy setting!!! :awesome:

Also.....

They waved their weapons around and at one point a ninja riding on a motorcycle sped straight through the middle of the scene.

Sounds cool.

Hopefully the ninja are still The Hand.

Their faces are covered, so there's a good chance.

Considering they've been shooting since before they lost rights to Dardevil/Elektra... it could easily be the Hand still. Guess we'll see soon enough.

Interesting. As some suspected, it's not a prequel. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but we'll see. I wonder how far in the future this is supposed to be set, or if it's something that will even be addressed?

James Mangold said:
"Where this film sits in the universe of the films is after them all," reveals Mangold. "Jean Grey is gone, most of the X-Men are disbanded or gone, so there’s a tremendous sense of isolation for him."

Learning that it's post X-Men: The Last Stand, and where everything stands, really wish Ratner went with this ending. It would've segue perfectly into this movie. Oh, well.

Lovin' this idea of isolation and it being a sequel. Can't wait to see more.

Mangold's Interview has settled some questions regarding country of X-Men films and gives
some clues on Days of future past.

The Last Stand Is still considered part of film cannon.

Famke Janssen's cameo In The wolverine Is eather dream or hallunciation and unlikely
she will be In Days of future past.

The wolverine takes place between end of Last Stand and future sequenzes of Days
of future Past except for wwII prison camp sequenze.

It's times like this where I wish the people in charge of the X-Men Franchise had the foresight and planning that the people over at Marvel Studios has when it comes to handling the MCU.

If the people in charge of X-Men could have gone back and do it all over again only with planning the timeline and its events, then the films would have felt more connected with each other, regardless if it was prequel or not.

It's time some get off the MS worship and admit If It wasn't for work of Bryan singer and
his team on X-Men we wouldn't be where we are now. They helped revive the genre after Batman and Robin fiasco.even Kevin Feige has admitted X-Men helped pay the way for marvel studios.

Some marvel studios fanboys have been saying the wolverine will bmb out the gate with lower opening weekend gross than First Class had. That makes no sense.

1:People had postive reaction to First Class
2:The Wolverine has Hugh Jackman back as wolverine headlining.First Class had a entirly new cast headlining It.

Does this bone claws image mean that x men orgins actually happened now?
this creates confusion for me.

they somehow have to create some imagery that erases orgins. orgins should be like a bad dream that we need to forget.

i thought they were trying ot erase the idea of o

All this means Is during WwII sequenze wolverine will have bone claws. That
comes from comics not Origins.Yes It was a recon In Comics to give wlverine claws after losing adamuntam skelton but still.

Don't forget If Deadpool Is made It's already been called a reboot of character however In script
while deadpool from Origins Is mocked with action figures of origins Deadpool called a bad movie and Hugh Jackman himself Is mocked.Deadpool Is still part of X-Men films by use of Colossus who teams up with Deadpool and Xavier Is mentioned
so kinda hard to reboot deadpool In X-Men films series and keep Origins.
And they are trying to distance themselves as much as possible from
Origins.

So, let me get this right, The Wolverine is set AFTER the Last Stand?

Frankly, I just can't keep up anymore. But, damn if this doesn't intrigue me a bit considering I just recently rewatched the X-Men trilogy for the first time in eons and something weird happened, I sorta...kinda...liked...the Last Stand.

And I say that in relation to the Marvel Studios films in this regard; say what you will about the direction they went and the killing off of characters in that film. But, it at least had stakes and consequences compared to the Marvel Studios films where, frankly, there really isn't any stakes because they announce sequels to films before the films actually debut.

It was kind of weird watching the Last Stand in that way. There's actual stakes in the film. I don't like the way the film plays out, in comparison to what we think Singer would've done had he had the chance to do the third film, but the film at least makes the narrative somewhat count by the stakes and aftermath of the story.

So, this is a sequel to the Last Stand. We'll see what they do with it.

i kind of like the last stand it is an entertaining film very big in scope with great action

just a fun movie to watch on the weekend if your bored

The Last Stand Is mixed film. It's too short, and plot Is mess. And charization Is mixed at best. The returning cast does It's best.I liked both Kelsey Grammer and Ellen Page. All
of the larger budget Fox gave It allows for more use of powers and larger scale action sequenzes.Plus the Danger room being used on screen and the fastball special with Colossus tossing wolverine.

It's biggest problem Is as followup to one of best comic book films X2 It suffers greatly. This Is because Fox's pussyfooting around and not securing a deal with Bryan Singer
allowed warner Brothers to offer him Superman and a much larger budget. And from then on It just went downhill with them micromanaging the filmmakers too much, losing Matthew Vaughn, and having the hack Brett Ratner finish film.

I dislike The Last Stand, so I'm not exactly thrilled at the possibility of further acknowledging it. I'm also not sure I like how much they're seemingly connecting this once standalone film to the rest of the X-Men Universe. They tried to do that with X-Men Origins, and it caused more problems than it solved. Granted, I'm not worried about them taking it that far again, but it still seems unnecessary.

Of course, some of this (like the X-Men disbanding) could simply be Mangold rationalizing Wolverine's state of mind in the movie, rather than something that's actually going to be addressed. We'll see.

It's snowing at Homebush for Hugh Jackman on the set of his new Wolverine flick

THE countdown is on for the completion of The Wolverine, with the crew working around the clock on the Sydney set to get the $100 million-plus movie across the finish line.

Shooting is scheduled to wrap in Sydney in the coming weeks for the X-Men spin-off and an all-nighter on Wednesday ensured at least one major action sequence was in the can.

The film's star Hugh Jackman was captured walking around the elaborate set, which was constructed inside a carpark in Homebush to look like a snowy village in Japan - where most of the film is based.

The 44-year-old Tony Award winner is reprising his role as clawed amnesiac Logan, however this week it seemed to be his stuntman who was working overtime.

Jackman was seen observing the scene - involving a team of ninjas - but did not appear to be in character.

Principal photography kicked off in Kurnell in July and quickly moved southwest to Picton, which was transformed into a Canadian town.

Production was then shipped to Tokyo and Hiroshima before returning to Oz, with Parramatta recently doubling as a Japanese city.

A sequel to 2009's X-Men Origins:Wolverine, Jackman has promised this movie will right the wrongs of its predecessor.

While commercially successful - it took $375 million worldwide - there was a huge fan backlash about the plot and the overuse of mutant characters.
The next instalment is said to be a more human story, set against a backdrop of WWII.

It's due to be released next July.

I do like the snow setting. I'm interested to see what the trailer holds. Also, I like this new picture a lot better than the first one--a real background and less Photoshop.

I like the Last Stand. Yes, it is heavily flawed, and some decisions are stupid. But nonetheless it's a nice film.

The final battle is very entertaining.
