Newuniversal

as glad as am to see its return CONTINUE THE MAIN SERIES!!!

Thirded!

As for finding the original series, the place where I get my crapbox books has tons of New Universe books in their quarter bins.

Finally:

newuniversal: shockfront #1 (of 6)
Written by WARREN ELLIS
Penciled by STEVE KURTH
Cover by BRANDON PETERSON
Initially, there were four: A Starbrand. A Nightmask. A Justice. A Cipher. They are manifestations of god-like power on Earth, chosen by the Universe. In the wake of the cosmic phenomenon that empowered them, they have been threatened, hunted, and attacked. And now, they’re about to discover that they’re not alone. Acclaimed writer WARREN ELLIS (THUNDERBOLTS) and artist STEVE KURTH (LAST OF THE MOHICANS) bring you the return of this new universe: one experiencing superhuman power for the first time.

32 PGS./Parental Advisory …$2.99

Finally indeed, took long enough :cmad:

Guys, I'm pretty sure the mini is suppose to be a continuation of the main book. We'll probably just get lil minis telling all the stories from now on.

That's what I figure too. I'm just really glad it's back.

Comes out in May with a New artist. not Larroca. I'm not sure about this guy, from what I've seen he's only done covers, so....... :o

Why do I get the feeling that this series is going the same way as the original :csad:

I'm gonna have some Starbrand muffins for breakfast now.

So...nobody got the new issue?

The return of Jack Magniconte and the exploding teleportation dude (whose name I can't remember) from The Draft, The War, etc.

There was also a little in joke with a bunch of cops named after various 616 cop characters.

Yeah, I thought it was really good. I really liked how Jack discovered his powers. That's going to be interesting since it was on such a public stage. I think the exploding guy was nicknamed Blow Out originally but I'm not sure. I thought it was Crawly at first. Ellis is doing such a great job with this series.

I have to agree. It's just the right mix of nostalgia and originality. Let's hope it hits the right sales targets.

Yeah, I'm getting that sense too. I like it, but I don't think it has enough wow power to survive for long. :(

The reason its going to crash and burn is cause its always freakin late! WTF! :cmad:

I really liked the last issue. I liked seeing Charlotte Beck again but sans sticky powers. It was really interesting that the white event totally changed the world as we know it not just by adding super powers but by altering history. I wondered why Ellis had chosen a different history when the New Universe was originally supposed to be the world outside our window but I guess it still is. I hope Marvel sticks with this series long enough to let Ellis finish his story.

Great. Something else for the morons at the local comic shop to "forget" to hold for me :)
