I think you'll be fine, but i would read the original Starbrand and DP7 stuff. I liked it quite a bit (especially Starbrand).

No. The New Universe came long before the Ultimate line, and it's filled with completely original characters, not modernized versions of 616 characters.

Some of those pages do have a resemblance to Jae Lee but Larocca's overall style is pretty different, as seen by that last page posted.

yeah, i actually rethought my statement afterwords and realized it wasn't exactly what i meant...i guess just the fact that they said they were trying to put these stories in a more realistic setting was what triggered my initial connection to the ultimate line...i guess that phrase is used too much..."in a more realistic setting" or the like...haha i guess if they just said it was a different line outside of 616 or something, then it wouldn't have bothered me as much...but o well, i might check it out if something interesting happens

That's pretty interesting since the Star Brand was what caused the White Event originally. I wonder if that's supposed to be Ken Connell in the last couple of panels.
