The Dark Knight Nicholson on Ledger playing the Joker

Having black people speak fast and talk funny (not in a good way) for 5 minutes (a trend that I had thought forgotten since the 80s), or the hero talking *********ion with his parents while some giant robots act like fools outside.... nah, I don't want ANY kind of that humor in TDK.
Racist :cmad:

A bit of an exaggeration. I wouldn't the Batman franchise to take on TF humor, but I sure as hell wouldn't name that franchise as a B&R.

TF is probably going to be the next POTC, spawning a couple of blockbuster smashes that mainstream audiences will enjoy the hell out of.

I truly despise everything in this film (save for Shia, the effects and Megan-and not for her talent ) and I consider it a worse fate for Batman than B&R. And I'm not kidding or exaggerating to make a point.

I don't think TF humor was as campy and corny as B&R. TF's humor fit for TF.

I found it just as campy as B&R. However, I laughed my a$$ off whenever Arnie opened his mouth. On the contrary, I was cringing whenver Optimus was dropping an one-liner.

If Nolan decides to take this franchise TOO serious, then to me, it could have the same effect as Schumacher not taking it serious enough.........the humor I'm talking about is Megatron flipping civillians into cars(which is pretty effin dark when you think about) and the inside jokes like "more than meets the eye", TDK could have nice little jabs at itself and it would be a nice little break in the movie. Schumacher was pun, pun, pun, maybe something to do with the story, if there really was one, oh, and more puns.

If you're talkin about Transformers(TF?), then I kinda agree(well...B&R was worse). The whole thing was more like a 2-hour army recuitment commercial.

"Look, you're a soldier now! You can do this!" :whatever:

I can go off on other parts, but I don't wanna stray too far off topic.

At least you stick to your opinions and don't fold to conform to the fanboy norm. I however despise B&R and loved TF. I don't think a little humor will kill TDK. If it's at the same level as BB. Anything campier or out of the context of the dark atmosphere of the film and it's just a start down a path I don't want to follow.

Notice, though, that I didn't comment on the humor itself. Apart from 1-2 bad one-liners, I was very satisfied with the humor in BB. I just answered to the TF-type humor comment.

Agreed. That part made me LOL.

I think id TDK keeps the same humor it had in BB, it'll be fine. BB, imo, had some pretty funny parts; they weren't all campy and stuff. I really liked the humor :yay:

Yes, we're all talking about Transformers. I actually laughed at the ridiculous thing that B&R was. However, while watching TF, I felt insulted on many levels. Humor was one of them.

BB was really funny, in a good way, I just hope they dont lose that the darker they get, Batman should be dark and serious, but too much of it and its not entertaining.
Heh.. this is getting entertaining.
:woot:
My sarcasm detector is running low on energy... you ARE joking now, right?
Charge those batteries ;)

Agreed, except for (like I said) a couple of bad one-liners.

Yep, thought so! Plugging them in as we speak:woot:

The bad one-liners are gonna happen, but here's the difference:
Schumacher: Every line is a bad one-liner.
Nolan: Probably should have not listened to Goyer on everything(although I like Goyer, just not as a writer)

**** We are so off-topic.............Jack should let it go

The only one-liner I didn't really like was:

"Nice ride!": We already have 2 "nice" one-liners, and they both worked pretty well imo.

Can't think of any more off the top of my head but i'm sure there's another one...

Rachel Dawes' parts is the only thing I wished they would've changed, and its not b/c she's new or that Katie played her(it doesnt help, but I didnt care who played her) I just didnt like the Ghandi speeches they gave her to say. If she's playing the same "voice of reason" character, then I hope she dies.

Agreed 100%

"Nice coat": Totally anticlimatic imo.
"I gotta get me one of those": Just didn't work. So... 80s.

I love Dawes. Perhaps they went a bit too far with her a couple of times, but I love the concept of her character. Much room for improvement (here's to TDK and Maggie), but it's the first hero girlfriend that is not... well, Catwoman(:hyper:), that I actually enjoyed a lot.

I liked the nice coat, but yes, now that i think aboot it, it was cheesy :oldrazz:

Although the "i gotta get me one of those" worked for me, because it came out of gordon and not some young hip actor that merely came out in the movie for that instance.

hey stotch i made a comic addressing villains hiring henchmen based on your idea
