Not sure if any of you caught our interview with Marvel godfather Stan Lee, but he released some minor spoilers on his role in this sequel. And lo and behold--he's not playing Willie Lumpkin--but rather someone else interesting!

Any guesses? I believe he's just playing himself as he mentioned, but as some sort of celebrity in their world.

Yep. Stan gave it away a few weeks ago on Coast To Coast with Art Bell.
He seemed VERY happy about both upcoming cameos, especially FF2. To be specific, he talked about how he and Kirby would sometimes put themselves in the comics and that his cameo in FF2 was an homage to that. :yay:
Just wish they had also cast a Kirby look-a-like. :(

But he doesn't get into the wedding.......they won't let Stan Lee in the wedding.......awwwwwwwwwwwww......

I think Stan should've married Susan and Reed. He should've played a Minister.

Seriously. I think it would have been most appropos.

Unless they changed it, that's what his cameo is. He can't get to see the wedding, because his name is not on the guest list. :woot: :csad: Will indeed be bitter sweet. Funny, and sad at the same time. But we all know he was on the wedding set as they we're shooting it. Seeing Sue and Reed getting married. What a thrill it must have been for him.

I hope they do it exactly as in the comic with Stan saying "C'mon Jack, let's go get started on the next ish!" It'll only take a sec and will be a real inside tip of the hat to the real fans without interupting the flow of the film too much for the viewers who don't get it.

I thought we already knew Stan was playing himself this time around? Anyways i'm glad they're reenacting that moment from the original wedding in the comics.

I love that they're doing an homage to the original . . .

. . . but how do they explain that he looks just like the mailman.

Will they try to explain it or just figure people won't notice or won't care?

Easy! Stan will be wearing his regular glasses instead of the sunglasses that Willie wore. Its the old Clark Kent/Superman thing...everyone knows that a pair of glasses completely conceals one's identity!

Stan Lee...a failed wedding crasher. :cwink:

That motorboatin' sunnuva*****!

Honestly I heard in a radio interview with him, he's never thinking like people think he does with these movies. He honestly just waits until the movie is out, sees it as any normal movie viewer, and it's not until the drive home that it usually dons on him "Holy crap! I helped create that 60 years ago!"
