I agree with you in principle. Make no mistake about that.

Batman is definitely one of most realistic superheroes. But he's not exactly real-world realistic. I mean you'd never mistake a Batman movie for a "based on a true story" type drama. LOL. With that in mind, where you have characters like Joker, Two-Face, and, a man dressed up as a bat... you can just as easily have a teenage ninja in a yellow cape. :o Doesn't mean that you necessarily SHOULD, but you COULD.

This clearly depends on how theses characters are portrayed. I feel you are referrencing Joker and Two Face from previous incarnations, that are differents worlds to Nolans BB. As i've said before, BB is believable in principle.

No, Supes and Lois got hitched inorder to make more comics, not increase comic book sells. After 70 years the characters needed some new dynamic.

Sorry, I agree. The principle is of introducing something to extend or improve the franchise still stands tho :)

In principle, sure. But do you honestly think that Nolan's Joker isn't going to be a guy with a white face, green hair and red lips, who wears purple? Do you honestly think Two-Face isn't going to look like a guy wearing a meatloaf on half his skull?

Maybe some subtle touches.....dark purple, natural dark rings around the eyes/little bit of makeup...... No to the green hair tho.

TBH, this is the first i've heard of 'Two Face' being in the sequel......

Sorry, but if Nolan does that to the Joker than he has missed the character completely.

The Joker SHOULD appear as a freak of nature. He SHOULDN'T mesh with the rest of the Nolanverse. He needs green hair, he needs bleach white skin, he needs ruby red lips and he needs a purple jacket.

Its subject to an opinion.

It's fact that directors modernize characters to fit their universe. Imo, if Nolan does that with the Joker, i'd be happy.

You're dead wrong. We've already heard he's going to have the classic look. Clothes, maybe not, but otherwise, absolutely.

Two-Face will be in Part III. Harvey will be in TDK.

You asked my opinion, I gave you my answer. Until we have a picture... no one is 'dead wrong'.

ALready not sounding good, for you. :cwink:

Oh, ok, it's all news to me :yay:

Okay, let me re-phrase this, then:

The few facts we have support me, and not you.

ALready not sounding good, for you. :cwink:

Why? Because the Joker isn't going to wear exactly the clothes that he traditionally wears in the comics? What we know is that Joker is going to wear purple. We also know that the suit he wears is not going to be made for him. It's going to be something he acquires somehow in the course of the film. Or that's what we've heard. We've also heard that his appearance - the green hair, white skin, red lips, etc., is absolutely going to be kept for the film.

Oh, ok, it's all news to me :yay:

That's because you're a n00b. :)

I havent seen or heard of any 'facts'

Now now big fella, im sure you're a real tough guy throwing insults thousands of miles away to someone who can't get their hands on you. :woot:

BTW - 'n0b' is spelt with a K :cwink:

It's not an insult... you'e a n00b. That's the official term for someone who has just joined the boards and has no clue what's going on. i.e., you. No offense intended.

Har!

I understood what you were implying, I just 'don't believe it, until i've see it'. Nothing personal, just a wise rule to follow here on these boards.

Ic ic. Ok, well in that case it would be true regarding any matters not Superman related.

I try to stay away from most sequel spoilers, so there will definetly be a few dark spots here and there regarding 'The Dark Knight'. The same will apply to SR2 in 2009 aswell....

True. But Heath Ledger himself said the Joker would have the classic look. I don't have the time to go dig up all the news articles from BOF, IGN and SHH! where those pieces of information were posted. They are not all necessarily true but the fact is, they are what we have heard and it's all we have to go by at this point.

Aha. Hence the name.

You are aware this is the Dark Knight "spoilers allowed" forum, right?

But if you take the Joke out of the Joker than all you have is an R. I didn't spend 8.50 to see Batman face some damn letter.:cmad:

That's why we're all so happy the R(obin) will not be included.

LOL, theres always one. 'Meatbag' - How about saying something a little more constructive than 'your a ****ing idiot'. 'Ballbag' - I haven't got the time for petty *****ing. Maybe a few more 'acts of courage' from yourself on this artificial social platform, you may start to develop a little bit of confidence in the 'real' world.

Keep up the good work

Watch this space....then we'll see who the ****ing idiot is.

So the 'joke' is his green hair, bleached white skin and his lipsticked lips??? Hmm and there was me thinking that was his appearance. Like I said, im betting they tone down all of these elements - to fit into the BB universe.

The 'Joke' is what he does, not so much how he looks.

Im more interested in Warner starting up a new Robin franchise. It now makes me think who will make a good Robin.

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing what Nolan does with the Joker.
It would be interesting to see a less cartoony and a more creepy version of him.

I'll drink to that mate.

After BB I personally have a lot of confidence in Nolan's decisions with characters like the Joker.

Look face it robin is as important to batman as alfred. Everyone blames robin for ruining the last two bat films but that couldnt be farther from the truth. The only problem with robin in BF and BR was that he was to old. This is supposed to be a comic book movie, so make it like comic book and add the boy wonder. He doesent have to be robin, I would settle for dick grayson, as long as he is living with bruce by the end of the film.
that would be great i would really love robin to be in a nolan film, to me its insulting when nolan says Penguin is a " tricky character to put on film" is he ****ing Joking?? Penguin is the most realistic batman villain on screen, and id figure with the success of Happy Feet and March of the Penguins!! Both by wb! penguin would be a Shoe in to return as A villain! and robin is an extremley reralistic character when u really look at it and makes the batman a character much more in depth with robin in it, now batman cant just be selfish and look out for himself, and he sees his young Bruce Self In dick Grayson, robin is a very compelling character when done right!!

I think we were all confused about Nolan's Penguin comment. Part of me thinks Penguin is in the movie, and Nolan's just lying to us. I mean, that idea about him as a British arms dealer was just perfect.
