Wow, this thread is still a hot one. I personally see no problem with adding Dick Grayson to the third film. If they make him Robin in the same film, or decide to hold it off for future installments (if they happen) is up to Nolan and the gang, but either is fine by me. He could easily work in this franchise. And as Saint has argued in previous posts, he is very much a key factor in the Batman mythos and part of the character's evolution. He's just as important as Alfred or Thomas and Martha.

Of course, only time will tell.

My main problem with Robin being in the movies is that he is another crime fighter, not only in the same city, but in the same home as Batman. This means that screen time will have to be taken away from Batman in order to develop the character of Robin. Robin is a great character, but as Christopher Nolan will be the first person to tell you, Batman is the most interesting character in the Batman Universe, and all the focus and attention should be on him. This cannot happen if Robin is in the picture.

thats such a Baloney Assessment, because Batman the animated series was very focused on the BAt and serious and still had Robin AND BATGIRL in the show, it all depends on the WRITERS! Robin in the nolan Film would do well!!

Agreement. Robin doesn't hijack the writer's brains and force them to do anything. Robin is obviously as valid as a Supporting character as Lucious, Alfred, Leslie Thompkins and certainly a million times more valid than Rachel Dawes.

And Robin is a big part of the bat-mythos from the comics, so leaving him out on what amounts to empty reasoning does constitute a big change for zero reason.

Campy things from the 90s movies: Batman, Batmobile, Joker, Two-Face and Robin
Things that can be updated into Nolanverse with changes (or sticking closer to the comics): Batman, Batmo... Tumbler, Joker, Two-Face and Robin.

Eyes open, people.

Look Freddie, I think you're a psycho and all, but that doesn't gives you the right to troll around the Batman Boards asking for Robin to be brought in. It's not the right time!

Exactly how can they even have a Completely Boring as Useless Made up character like Rachel Dawes in the movie( when they could have put the freaking comic book Charcter RACHEL CASPIAN IN THE DAMN FILM! they have no excuse saying Robin cant be in the movie, when they put that waste of space, Crapass charcter in the film, and Robin is and essential part of the Mythos a Million freaking times more Valid than her!(sigh)

Robin's time yet to come so Bruce is still learning no Robin for a long time.

Great, Spider-Freddie's here. Now not only will I have to argue wth people who altogether hate the very idea of Robin, but I also have to argue with the other extreme of someone who actually thinks Robin should show up in The Dark Knight. Yeah, I predict the death of this thread very soon.

Maybe sometime Bruce could see the parallels between young Grayson, who looses his parents at the same time Bruce lost his. That's about as close as Robin should come.

But for some reason, I just have a hard time seeing Bale's Bruce Wayne in a fatherly sort of role.

Is it true if we say Robin three times, Spider-Freddie appears? :oldrazz:

robin ain't appreaing in a batman film nolan directs, and christian Bale stars in.

your not the director shut the hell up and get over yourself fast! robin will appear in the film

Look, man, I like Robin, I have no problem with him and I'd be happy to see him in a Batman film. But it's not going to happen this time. Nolan has made that pretty clear. And he has enough character development to do with Bruce; introducing Dick has to be done at a time when Batman needs Robin in order to continue his growth as a human being (and Batman does reach that point, eventually).

First, though, Batman has to go to some pretty dark and scary places. That's how storytelling works.
