Norton distances The Incredible Hulk (2008) from The Hulk (2003)

Dudes, I'm getting more and more psyched for this film.

It blew me away to hear Norton say that he re-wrote the screenplay at Comic-Con.

I hope that put Zak "X-Men: The Last Stand" Penn out of work.

Will the origin be at least like the comic book??

The blast???
they said there won't be an origin scene.
it will be kinda like a flashback in some moment in the movie.

Zak's a good guy and the core of his script is still there.

I just hope the flashback isn't too far off from what we saw in the original. I mean, YES, I did read the article, but it would just be odd and silly to moviegoers and probably some fans if we got this really different scene. I'm still curious about how they're going to do that, but i'm still VERY excited. I want a trailer, dammit! :woot:

I don't mind....just as long as he's caught in a blast!! Not some quiet Kodak camera lab experiment.

Yeah the lab scene was pure cheese. Like using a cheap strobe light and called it an effect.

I just shat my pants with joy! Good to hear some good news what with the crappy news of the Joker

I am so excited to see this film! Norton is awesome!

I'm glad Norton is silently bashing the 2003 Hulk. I think this new film will be far better.

This is just chapter 1!

I have no doubt that IH will be a hit and demand a sequel.

However, anyone else wonder how these chapters would play out in terms of timing and release?

Marvel said they plan to make two movies a year, no more no less.

Where would an Avengers movie fits in to these Norton chapters? Chapter 3?

Forget the writer's strike and the actors threatened strike, what will Marvel's slate looks like from here if Hulk is a trilogy? Doesn't Marvel need to be planning that far ahead if they're shooting scenes like the Nick Fury/Tony Stark/General Ross one mentioned?

Maybe...

2008: Iron Man / Incredible Hulk

2009: Thor / Ant-Man

2010: Captain America / Iron Man 2

2011: Hulk 2 / Avengers
(Is that too much Hulk in a year and can it even be done practically?)

i read this intrerview yesterday, i had a big smile on my face after reading it ...

Zak's a good guy and the core of his script is still there.

Norton didnt rewrite the whole script, just changed some stuff to make it his, but to his credit it has been for the better.

I guess its kind of like Goyers Batman script getting some tweaking from Chris Nolan.

So happy about Norton saying its part one. They have Samuel Stern in IH so it shows they are thinking about setting up future movies. Marvel look more likely that they can pull off an Avengers movie with Downey and Norton than before.

Hell friggin' yes, there were still people claiming that this was not a revamp.

Glad to hear it from the Nort himself.

And while it's not certainif it made it in the final cut,the [BLACKOUT]super soldier serum that created Cap[/BLACKOUT] will have a part in Hulk's origin according to early scripts.

Thank god, great move. I love the way Marvel is handling things with their superhero films. They had no hesitation in putting the 2003 Hulk behind them and starting a new continuity. Plus, they seem committed to having multiple chapters of their solo films before going into a team-up film with those same actors.

Meanwhile, WB is clueless. Casting Laguna Beach type actors for a JLA film in the middle of one franchise (Batman) while they have no idea what do with the other (Superman). Man those guys are lost. :csad:

It's coming and possibly in 2 weekends. They'll be pushing IM and TIH on Idol too I'm sure of it.

After what happened with the Hulk trailer during the 2003 Super Bowl, I seriously doubt we'll see a Hulk trailer this time, not unless the effects are totally complete, which is doubtful at this point. I think the most we get is a teaser

That would already be something. I have my doubts as to a trailer with the Superbowl. A small teaser however seems a real possibility.

Hehe, it does sound funny when Norton wanted it to have nothing to do with the last one even though they've chosen to keep Zak Penn's decision to follow up the last film's setting in Brazil.

Still, I get what he's talking about.

That film has nothing to do with this film and there's no reason they can't and won't have a teaser. Remember the 1st Hulk teaser that had no CGI just Banner looking in the mirror and the house exploding out. That's a teaser. If the CGI is ready though give us a glimpse.
