The Dark Knight Rises Not Freeze, But Frost!

Would you like to see some snow in the Nolan series?

  • Yes...Some extra frost added to Gotham would be great!

  • No...No sense for snow without Freeze...

  • Doesn't matter...I don't care, I just want a third film!

I think you have answered the wrong question.

Threads like this are interesting, because they demonstrate how few actually read through threads or even their first posts, before posting in them themselved.

I absolutely would love to see winter in Gotham with the Nolan series. Some of my favorite visuals from the comics is Gotham in winter & Batman and characters in the snow. And one of the best things about Batman Returns was that it took place in the winter. Seeing Batman and Catwoman's black costumes in the white snow is just mesmerizing... would love to see Nolan's vision of that.

I think snow would be beautiful with a Christmas setting. I'm for it.

I think a cool scene would be Bruce going to the graveyard...In the snow or rain...With lightning...Lightning flashes and you see Wayne just standing there...TAS intro style...

Snow/frost does not have to be a theme it can be a motif or just a different canvas the story is set on.

That is deffinitely needed. Great idea! This must be in the third and final movie to wrap up some loose ends with Wayne's heartache. You should make a thread. It is at least one great idea among a sea of crap.

Yeah...Thanks...

Oh...And what exactly should that other thread be about?

I don't see a summer blockbuster being set at Christmas/Winter...

ALthough... If you had a Holiday type bad guy... Then you could...

I think a Winter time-setting would definitely help. And I don't think it requires to have any certain characters in it just for it to have snow. If u look at some of the moments from the comics that have snow in them.... u can easily see how how wonderful it would be to see them adapted onto film.

Wouldn't you feel the least bit bad for any actors that would be scantily clad in a winter setting?

lol... they can fake snow. they don't have to actually film it in the winter. and besides, they were in a very cold environment for quite a while for Batman Begins, and they didn't talk about anything in the documentaries but how they loved it. Didn't hear any complaints from them.

But they were not scantily clad (thinking more of the women). I think they went on those locations to get a more realistic canvas...wouldn't fake be paradoxical?

This snowy effect seems to be working really well for The Spirit...Graphically that is...

...Reviving dead thread!

"FROST IN HELL!! BATMAAAAN!"

Doesn't have the same ring to it. :\

Rain!!! Or just normal weather, maybe snow, I would get BR memories... :)

It's good visual idea.

In BB I got the feeling of autumn in Gotham, with the rains and the cloudy sky. TDK was definitely summer. So, really, it would be very interesting to see the Nolanverse Gotham in winter. And maybe not with Christmas setting (it was used already in BR, and if we get a Catwoman too, it would feel repetitive), but with a New Year's Eve?

As well...Just to add to all the other points out there...

...It would be pretty cool to make the weather kind of like a character in itself and how the weather (snow) effects Bruce's movement in the suit, what time he's able to go out at...And how to alter the suit if need be because of natural causes such as wind or hail or of course snow! An altered cape comes to mind when thinking about these alterations...

There was snow in Batman Returns...No Mr. Freeze in sight anywhere...In that film!

That's because Burton had more creative control and snow is a Burton trademark. Almost all his movies have snow in them.

He uses it because it's a cool visual effect and it is fun to play with contrasts with it (look at The Spirit and Sin City)...What I'm also trying to say is that instead of just making it a cool graphic...It could be used significantly to the story because it will effect the mind set and approach used to attack the baddies!

It could be a good excuse to give Batman a new costume. :woot: Make it be something heavier to keep him warm.

^But then he's not as mobile...Which was the point of the second suit

Actually it's because he has some Goth-kid-I-hate-my-parents obsession with Christmas.
