That actually seems slightly strange to me. I would've thought Bautista would've signed a multi-picture deal at inception... as is the case with most Marvel contracts. Maybe Drax was previously conceived as a one-and-done character or a GOTG-exclusive character, and Marvel only relatively recently decided that A3 would be a full on Avengers/Guardians crossover.

I would not be surprised at all if Guardians' success led Marvel to tweak a deal or even rethink how much of a role they might get in Avengers 3. Of course, that assumes the rumor is even accurate in the first place...

Never too early for Avengers 3 talk. Wonder what level of involvement GOTG might have. There will likely be new Avengers to introduce too as well as the current 9 so tonnes of characters to go round.

Ya it's going to be interesting to see how they handle having all those characters in one film (if they don't do the Pt 1/Pt 2 stuff).

I can't see them doing the Pt1/Pt2 thing. I think it's more suited to a franchise with a definitive end. Avengers can go on for decades. :woot:

It's a lot of characters for sure but many of them willl have been fully developed many times over, some in up to 3 of their own solo films. It's not like a film starting from scratch with a tonne of major characters. Will be interesting for sure. Cameos all over the place.

The title of Avengers 3...

Avengers : We Made A Deal With Sony

have anyone read the Spiderman in Avengers theory ?

I remember reading about it a few months ago but i cant seem to find it again.

some of the points the author of the article made are.

Why did sony went for a reboot since Tobey mguire was under contarct for spidey 4.

Sony already having good relations with both Disney & Marvel.
Disney distributes the TASM toyline and Sony had a deal with Marvel for the Oscorp building to be included in New York in the Avengers film but they didnt have the time for that to happen in post production.

Avengers happens in 2011 , TASM happens in 2012..

...and you can see ALL THOSE CRANES in New York in TASM film...
remember New York was devestated in the Avengers film.... thats a definate nod. but why ???

And a weird one. In Thor TDW a picture of Rhys Ifans (he was the Lizard in TASM) can be seen on a bus in London where some of the movie takes place.... weird.

Is Spidey joining the Avengers 3 ? and if he does was it planned all along ? Cause even if it isnt it still may happen if Sony and Marvel Studios strike a deal in the near future. Sony needs the money.

^ Nope. Spider-Man will be introduced into the MCU when Marvel gets back the rights and not before. And that isn't happening anytime soon. Hastily throwing continuity and common sense out the window seems more like a Sony/Fox move. Marvel Studios will never stoop to something like this.

After weeks of hard work i could finally pretty much confirmed a scoop i received last month regarding Avengers 3 and Phase 3 of the MCU.

I just need a final confirmation from the source to publish it on http://www.dailymarvelite.com

Should be online sometimes today.

You guys are going to wet your undies, that much i promise!

I don't expect to see much Thanos in Avengers 2 so it would seem like he might need a bit more time to get the full treatment. And it would mean 2 ridiculously huge films in 2 years for Marvel. I certainly wouldn't rule it out.

Splitting Avengers 3 into two parts, if true, is a brilliant idea. If they build up Thanos over several movies only to destroy him within one movie, he'd be anti-climatic and not worth the trouble in the first place. Besides, there will be many characters, and some will be short-changed if we only have 2 1/2 hours to show all of them. I hope this rumor turns out to be true.

While I'm not so sure about the source - I've been saying Avengers 3 should be a two-movie epic for ages now.

I don't know. Part of me is like, well, couldn't you tell this story in a 2.5 hour film? And does this mean losing Joss Whedon because I am a huge Whedon fan to the point where I would easily give up actors in order to keep him on as a writer/director. Also, what about all the Marvel releases between those two dates? All of the MCU ties in with one another, so what the hell would they be putting out while said hero should be fighting Thanos. Like, any movie you saw during the year wouldn't you just be like "dude, no, don't you know the UNIVERSE IS ENDING RIGHT NOW!? What the hell are you doig not fight Thanos!?"

On the other hand, two Avengers films in a year, score!

Maybe there wouldn't be any MCU films between the 2 Avengers films. They could release one at the end of summer 2018 and one in May 2019 assuming they're filmed concurrently. Which would also mean Whedon for both films.

They should cast Anna Paquin as Ms. Marvel :P

Sounds like a great idea to me. They've been building Thanos up so much it's already hard to envision a finale that wouldn't be a disappointment. A two-movie, franchise crossover would give him ample opportunity to be then ultimate BBEG while also giving both Avengers and Guardians room to breathe. Count me in.

To tell The Infinity Gauntlet properly they will need to make the film two, if not three, films. Yes, this definitely runs into some contractual concerns. But in this case all parties stand to make a boatload of cash, so I suspect they can figure it out. They really have to go all out on this one. We need The Avengers, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Dr. Strange, & Ant-Man vs. Thanos and his minions. (Personally I'd let The Defenders deal with the local level stuff on their Netflix show).

Thus the IG would feature:

Captain America
Iron Man
Thor
Hulk
Hawkeye
Black Widow
Scarlet Witch
Quicksilver
Vision
Star-Lord
Drax
Gamora
Rocket
Groot
Dr. Strange
Ant-Man

This way the entirety of the Marvel Universe will be represented: earth's heroes, cosmic heroes, mystical heroes, and "Miracle" heroes (mutants).

2 parts seems like the way to go in my book. It's a ways away as well so I'm sure they will have ample time to figure out all the legal stuff and whatnot

I'd be down for 2 parts, it would get me more of my favorite Marvel character! The release schedule would be interesting. Could the duology (if it happens) be May 2018 and the summer 2018 date? That way they could lead in to it with Guardians 2 (summer 2017) and Thor 3 (November 2017).
