Seems to be a pretty common thing now, yeah.
But take the Fox stuff on the whole, it's still like 4 awesome, 2 ****ty, and a couple nothing-amazing-but-fine. That ratio's not really any different to the MCU, and it's besting the DCEU stuff so far.
It really annoys me how people are revising movie history to brand the entire X-Men movie series as garbage, when the reality is far more complex.
I don't quite agree with you on the first X-Men movie being "awesome" since there's a fair amount in it that doesn't hold up that well ("You know what happens to a toad when it gets hit by lightning?"), but it's still entertaining. But X2, First Class and DOFP are easily as good as Avengers, Civil War or Infinity War (my three favourite MCU flicks) and I would argue that Logan is objectively better than any MCU movie.
That being said, while the Fox-Verse has had similar (or even higher) highs to the MCU, its lows have undoubtedly been lower. IMO, Apocalypse, The Last Stand and Borigins are significantly worse than Iron Man 2 or Thor: The Dark World and I think that that drags down people's perception of the entire franchise.
