Unpopulest unpopular opinion! I miss Whedon's Avenger group battle scenes. You know when the music becomes high energy and we see those teamwork shots that show each Avenger working off the other in perfect sync. Didn't get that in Infinity and I feel like thats an Avenger staple by now.

Honestly wish we got a tracking shot during the airport battle but then it would be even more obvious they didn’t know how to use Vision there.

Seconded on the Whedon stuff. Aside from the ADHD-what-the-kiddies-all-want-CG-cannonfodder-cluster**** third act finales with the Chitauri and the Ultron drones, I've really loved Whedon's action stuff with his flicks. The whole helicarrier sequence in A1 is so well-staged, looking forward to going through the prior movies in a week or two in build-up to Endgame.

High-five on all the The First Avenger and Iron Man 3 love in the thread, too. Hands-down my favorite stuff the company's done along with Agent Carter S1.

I agree. That Avengers tracking shot and the assemble scene for the first time still gives me chills. I'll never forget watching those scenes with a packed audience opening day and everyone lost their sh*t.

Tracking shot. Never knew what to call those scenes. Thanks. I just feel like Whedon was making those shots as iconic as the Avenger theme. And I'd like the tradition to continue.

Like Daredevils hallway fights.

I don't think anything in Age of Ultron, or Infinity War tops the New York battle in Avengers 1.

Ultron was underwhelming Infinity War had some chilling moments in the final battle but they still need to improve the look of those films, hopefully Endgame delivers something as epic and striking as final battle in Aquaman

Sigh. I can't get my tickets for the 24th. This goddamn queuing system sucks, and the theater system can't handle anything. ****!!!!!!!!!!!

I think there are a couple of scenes at least on par with it, for me anyways.

Hulkbuster vs Hulk
The circle shot in Sokovia ending with Thor,Vision and Iron Man blasting Ultron
The Titan fight, especially Strange vs Thanos
Thor's entrance in Wakanda is one of the hypest moments ever.
And let's not forget Civil War's airport fight.

So the theory here they want to undo the snap...how they do that? un-snap?
because they snap the fingers again, another 50% will be gone? They need to address this...because i doubt they have a "switch" on the gauntlet that says, "reverse"

I basically watch The Wakanda/Titan intercut battle scene from IW, The highway fight from The Winter Soldier, and the Cap and Bucky vs Iron Man fight from Civil War like crazy. I think the Russos really are awesome at blending the eye candy and flash with such overwhelming intensity. Cap and Bucky feels so intense. Iron Man's counter measure on Cap? Kind of unsettling. Thanos vs Tony? Pure fear. It's a huge reason why they're a massive 3 for 3 imo.

Yeah, the Hulkbuster/Hulk AoU thing gets a little too over-the-top and weightless-videogame-y in the second part of it, but that first half is a goddamn blast.

Kinda feel the Russos get too much credit on their action stuff, too. Aspects of it are amazing, the two Cap/Bucky throwdowns in TWS and the Titan stuff in IW, but some of it's pretty weak too like the NY stuff at the start of IW and some of the fights in CW. Sure, it's got all that hard-hitting immediacy, but at a certain point the hand-to-hand stuff feels a little poor-man's-Bourne. They reigned in the shaky-cam thing a whole lot for IW which was appreciated, but I hated it so much in CW.

It's clear Whedon's not much of an action guy by nature, it's not his main skill, but it's all pretty much fine in his two movies aside from maybe the goofy Loki/Cap scuffle. As a big sequence in broad terms I still kinda feel like the helicarrier thing as a whole in A1 has yet to be topped. And somehow while it's obviously got a large CG component to it it somehow "feels" a little more tangible & oldschool than a lot of the digital wizardry since.

Thanos could have literally used the snap to do anything. The intent of the user determines what the Gauntlet does once all six stones are in place.

The battle of ny is still one of my top favorite action scenes in the MCU but I prefer the civil war airport battle because I love me over the top comic book action and the Battle of Wakanda for the emotion and intensity.

Avengers and AOU have amazing, very underrated action but I feel Rusos deserve the credit for their action as well.

Yeah the Battle of NY is still my favorite action sequence in the entire MCU as well, and the main reason why I'd still put that movie above IW despite the fact that I do believe IW is better in a lot of other ways. I'd love to see them replicate that amazing, comic-book panel esque euphoria again, but I really don't know if they could since the Russo's have such a different approach when it comes to action. Hell even Whedon had a hard time doing it with AOU, although I still love the opening sequence and I actually really enjoyed that Hulkbuster fight despite how video gamey it was. While I do love the grittiness of TWS and CW some of the shaky cam in those movies is pretty bad at times. I think they really hit a nice stride though with certain sequences like the Airport fight, the end fight with Tony, Cap and Bucky and The Battle On Titan. I'm sure they got something special awaiting us in Endgame too.

So you control the gauntlet with your mind?"This would be a lazy writing"

How did you think Thanos was controlling what the stones did? There are no buttons on or in the Gauntlet. All those times he changed people and objects to different things with the reality stone, when he created the illusion in Nowhere, when he unleashed the power of the power stone, when he opened portals through space etc he was willing the stones to do what he wanted. Peter and Ronin were doing the same with the power stone in GOTG. There were no buttons or interfaces in peter's bare hand and Ronin's mace.

All the Gauntlet did was allow Thanos or someone powerful to wield all or some of the stones together without dying.

stones do 1 linear thing, power is to get him power or amplify ok? now you tell me that the power stone can take away the powers? so 2 ways?
I know time stone can bring you back in time or get you in the future...but that is time stone
what about mind and soul
Maybe you are right...but still, everybody now can use the gauntlet without any knowledge?
So lets say tony put the gauntlet, he is thinking bring back the same exact 50% that died xx days ago? why not all the deaths from 100 years ago?
Again i hope Russo address this thing and how it works for anybody else less than Thanos

Hope you get them mate, it’s pretty baffling systems are still having trouble.

Thanks, I'll go down physically to try and get them tmr. Sigh. I'm really depressed. Because of the ****ty system, I was prevented from being able to get tickets..........

So what was the whole ",don't let him close his fist" thing about?????
