I hate the "no promotion" promotion they are doing for Endgame.

I love getting hyped for movies. Its part of the experience for me. (At least with MCU films).

I understand fans wanna go in blind, but theres tons you can give out without spoiling anything.

I would even prefer fake outs like Hulk in Wakanda then nothing at all.

They're literally taking the exact same marketing approach that they did for Infinity War. We'll be drowning in promotional material in less than a month's time.

The trailers gave us "something" last time around.

This year we get "nothing" from the trailers.

Based on what I’ve read, and I’m not talking about the crazy theories, just general thrust of the story, the second and third acts are just crazy. So even the slightest shot from them could be major spoilers for people.

I understand that the intrigue here is really "how" they are going to do it.

BUT...

I dont see how its possible that carefully selected shots without any context could be major spoilers.

and they use time travel to get the Stones before Thanos, I imagine showing them visiting scenes from earlier movies would spoil the “how”

I can't believe this comes out in less than 2 months. That's one good thing about the lack of promotion, it's just sneaking up fast.

I'm loving this lack of promotion. Just like the good ol days where you had to actually go to theater to get an idea of what was gonna happen. I'm starting to think that if they show us any more it will ruin the movie.

Which tells me there is a lot happening that they just don't want to show... I can dig it.

I'd imagine they are around the same figure. Infinity War was reported to have a budget of $400 million.

that's what I wonder, but so many things. It was stated that Downey Jr made 100 million off of it. And I can imagine Pratt/Johanssen/Evans/Hemsworth/Ruffalo easily earned another 50 million from the budget right there. I wouldn't be surprised if it was like 250-300 for Infinity War and 300 for Endgame.

Cheadle wasn't on SNL to promote Endgame, so there's no reason for a skit about the film. The ad for his apoearance was an Avengers mini-skit, which was enough.

That may true, but it'd have been an easy joke to throw on. Especially as so few Black superheroes.

They may have tried writing one but just couldn't get it to work. There are about 6-7 sketches a show, but a few dozen are actually pitched throughout the week.

Marvel would be stupid to go hard on Endgame promotion just before Captain Marvel comes out. They want us to think about CM right now so we will buy tickets for that. Endgame promotion will kick off when it's not disturbing the CM business.

Yeah, that Marvel doesn't even need to promote the film that heavily is testament to the strength of their rapport with consumers the world over.

Marvel is definitely going to wait a bit to promote Endgame, but I'm still expecting the next trailer to drop in the next 2 to 3 weeks. With the official merchandise supposedly going on sale on the 31st of this month and Empire Magazine doing a cover story on the 21st it has to become before then.

It's not a 100% confirmed, but it sounds like they are still going to somewhat follow the same pattern of what they did with IW last year at least that's what's expected. The merchandise street date and the Empire Cover dates are official and 100% confirmed though.

It's a shame that the Endgame trailer can't be attached to Captain Marvel, but releasing it just days before CM comes out would steal her thunder. Trailer #2 would suck all the air out of the room, leaving little space for news of CM to take the limelight.

Well that pretty much confirms that we are getting a trailer very soon. The next couple of weeks are going to be really crazy with Captain Marvel still out and the hype building for ENDGAME.
