Snyder's run continues to be derivative and boring. Everything he does has already been done better elsewhere. Am I supposed to get chills with this last line, when Return of the joker did it way better several years ago? Seriously? Gordon is written as a moron, once more. The first page is boring. Snyder thinks making his protagonists moron and cowards humanize them, but it doesn't. Do we really need batman and gordon crying all over the stories every time the joker is there? It's as stupid as it already was in death of the family. How can Snyder makes something like eternal, a story that has its letdown, but is intense and full of ideas, and then make things like endgame? It's like it's not the same writer. I guess his work is better when he's writing with others.

Also, Batman didn't beat Darkseid at all. He barely threw a few punches that did nothing to darkseid, and got his ass beaten. He did outsmart him through.

I sure as Hell hope Joker isn't some freakin entity like Pennywise or some ****. That didn't kinda get on anybody's nerves? I mean, in the moment it was cool while I was reading it but after finishing it I really don't want that to be the case.

I hope he just plays a trick on gordon with the pictures.
If snyder really makes him some kind of superhuman or so, it would take away something of his character imo.

The idea that it would be soo easy for batman to kill him is a lot better then the idea that he simply cant kill him.

really not a fan of what they've done with Batgirl since gail left

We should never have had a "new" Babs' Batgirl.

She is and forever will be Oracle, since 1988... unless it's a flashback.

Completely disagree with you here, but it's alright. Different strokes.

indeed. Save for the moron part. how can you disagree about Gordon being a moron? It takes a moron to turn his back to the joker like he did.

An update on Norm Breyfogle. Sadly, He has suffered paralysis on his left side (and is left handed). I can't imagine how devastating that must be for an artist...

He needs a little bit of help with medical expenses (and his future nursing home), so if any Bat-fan has a small amount left over this holiday season, this would be an excellent cause to donate to.

Perhaps, but even I momentarily thought
Gordon had at least paralyzed The Joker with that shot.
In those situations, rational thought and logic don't always prevail.

Ah, that's sad to hear. I'll put in some for that. I'm hoping he at least can find a good nursing home, you can never know with these places.

what don't you like about it?

not really fan of the new lighthearted and bubbly tone they've decided to go for

maybe it's just personal preference but i prefer the way gail wrote her as someone who has had to overcome numerous personal tragedies and carried the weight of being a superhero

the new costume seems like it was made to appeal more to younger crowds than to be practical, it looks a bit cosplay as opposed to the more traditional look she had prior to this reboot

again personal opinion

I get your point. It doesn't work for me, but I understand why it does for you.

Met Scott Snyder at a book signing. Cool guy and polite. Signed my two copies of his Batman # 2 and my Black Mirror HC. :D:up:

Just got done reading this week's Batman.

Batman going to the Court of Owls for help?!

Also, the [BLACKOUT]Joker's immortality[/BLACKOUT] is an interesting idea.

I think I need details to the blackout part there? What now?

Yeah, Batman #38 was excellent. This arc has been great, much like Zero Year (and the other arcs) before it. I love it.

Agreed I'm loving it, this whole run since issue 1 has been so awesome. love it.

I just realized there was a lot of Batman on the racks this week.

Batman gaining super powers over in JL. Batman getting his son back by his side over in B&R. Chibi Batman teaming up with Atomic Wasteland Batman over in Multiversity; and whatever the hell it is that Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo do every month. Did I miss anything?

Batman still finding out whoever is behind Gotham's demise the past 40'ish weeks in Eternal!

Oh yeah. I always forget that title even exists lol.

Yeah that news was kinda heartbreaking :csad:

On the plus side we not only are getting a Damian solo book from Gleason but a title featuring multiple Robins from Lee Bermejo as well. I am all over both those books like white on rice.

And Superman/Wonder Woman still continues...what a world we live in *sighs*

Does anybody read Detective Comics? i never seem to see people talk about it.
I really like it, bullock and Batman "working" together and all that, its really nice and has great artwork.

I read it every month. I've seen a couple of others bring it up too in the past. I just never really bring it up and usually avoid this thread because most people on this forum just want to talk about Snyder's Batman.
