CABLE & DEADPOOL #44
Written by FABIAN NICIEZA
Penciled by REILLY BROWN
Cover by SKOTTIE YOUNG
“Deadpool and Wolverine” Part 2 of 2 PART TWO of our WOLVERINE TEAM-UP!!! One of them would like to pierce HYDRA's newest sector commander with three adamantium claws. One of them would prefer to woo and soothe that commander with friendship and silicon chips. Can we all agree to disagree without turning this into a bloody, gory, intestine-spewing fight? Probably not... 32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

Please can we have Zircher back...please? :(
I like the guys art at the moment, I just feel the inker/colourist isn't doing his pencilled lines justice. They just look too flat.

Any thoughts on the recent issue? I thought it was okay, glad to see the two back together. Yet, since issue 25...I've just felt it's gone way downhill.

I was looking at the some old letters which were sent to the comic around issue 20ish, congratulating the team on such a great book. I can't see that now :/

This summer, after the events of the unforgettable X-Men #200, mutants in the Marvel Universe will become an “Endangered Species,” but what role do the time traveler Cable and the “merc with a mouth” Deadpool play in this crucial moment in mutant history? The surprising answers arrive in Cable & Deadpool #41 & 42, hitting stores this June, featuring the X-Men and showing the events leading up to X-Men #200 from Cable’s unique perspective. Just how have these events changed him? And what happens when Cable comes face to face with Deadpool once more? It’s a story so big that we need two issues in June to tell it all!

That means you get double the dose of the comic that ComixFan’s Alan Bergin described as a series in which, “you can pick it up knowing that you're going to have a good time.”

Like the early tie-ins to such recent mega-hits such as Civil War and World War Hulk, Cable & Deadpool #41 & 42 are going to be hot—don’t miss out on the issues that will redefine this series and provide the lead-in to the huge X-Men #200! With direct ties to this special anniversary issue, and new light shed on the recent major events in X-Men, Cable & Deadpool #41 & 42 are must-reads for X-fans!

Deadpool/GLI - Summer Fun Spectacular
48 full color pages
Written by: Dan Slott & Fabian Nicieza
Art by: Various
Release Date: July 5, 2007
Price: $3.99

When you think of summer, what are the first things that come to mind? Ninjas, hitmen and summer school lessons from "the merc with a mouth," Deadpool, right? Well, that's what you're getting with Marvel's special Deadpool/GLI - Summer Fun Spectacular, written by Dan Slott (She-Hulk, Avengers: The Initiative) and Fabian Niceza (Cable/Deadpool), with art from Paul Pelletier, Clio Chiang, Nelson Decastro & Kieron Dwyer, plus a knockout cover from Pelletier! With Deadpool's checkered past, and the do good spirit of the Great Lakes Initiative (Formerly The Great Lakes Avengers), it's hard to imagine a team up between the two sides, but Slott and Niceza know a match made in heaven when they see it! C'mon, are you really going to turn down ninjas, Deadpool doing his best imitation of a teacher and the scintillating romance of Squirrel Girl & Robbie Baldwin?

Perfect for fans of Cable/Deadpool, and new readers alike, Deadpool/GLI is the book that puts the "fun" back in "funny pages!" This summer, Marvel invites you to lay back, relax and take a trip to the beach with the most unexpected crossover of the year! You really don't want to say "no" to Deadpool, do ya?

I also thought the last issue was quite good as well. Several genuinely funny moments with a nice blend of drama. I especially loved Wade's confrontation with Sabretooth.

LOL, Wade kicked Saby's ass. And then Cable kicked Saby's ass. It was shweet. :D

LOL. The art for that GLI/DEADPOOL just cracks me up. That's gonna be fricking hilarious.

Edit: Oh snap. I just noticed Slott is in on it. Oh god. Slott shall own that.

#41 was top notch. I was incredibly pleased with it.

I love Cable/Deadpool, and it's a book I'm always looking forward to, but I'm not going to say that it hasn't had its trouble spots. It kinda plodded along through the 30s, if I remember right, especially through the Civil War tie-ins. Not that they were too political for me, they just lacked the same feel as earlier issues.

Now we're getting back into that feel, and the tie-in with Carey's X-Men issues helped that. ... Is it bad that I actually prefer the way C/D's artist draws the X-Men over Bachalo? :x

Deadpool's entrance was great, as was him taking Sabes out like that... and it didn't hurt at all that the art didn't pull any punches regarding what was going on there.

But I've loved these last two issues especially, in that we're reaching the sensible seriousness of Cable again, and I suppose the tragedy that being "the guy from the future" involves (think Terminator). Too much Deadpool starts to drag on me. This book had initial success because it was Cable's serious crusade coupled with Deadpool's inability to be serious. It looks like we'll be going back to that equation, which I think is

I'm definitely looking forward to where things'll be going.

Yeah, like others who have commented on the recent issue, I've gotta agree.

It was a fun issue, and after so long...finally things are picking up nicely

A living legend. A super soldier. A horrible tragedy that continues to rock the Marvel Universe. Would Deadpool hold any of these things sacred? CAPTAIN AMERICA is about to find out! But wait, isn't Cap dead, you ask? Of course he is, but then... how can he be teaming up with our favorite Merc With A Mouth and his trusty sidekick, BOB, Agent of Hydra...?
Maybe Bucky can provide a clue...
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

I love that Bob is even getting included in the solicits now. Lol.
