Comics Official CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND MI:13 Discussion Thread

I love this preview!!! The art looks quite nice, and stopping a bank robbery is so Excaliburish (see issues 1-2 of the original run). I can't wait for it. Chris is a genius :D

Rule Britannic...britannic Rules The Otherworld...britannic Never Never Ever Will Be A Slave.

Wow, someone stopped reading Excalibur a LONG time ago. Brian hasn't been Britannic since somewhere around issue 90 of the original series.

32 PGS./Rated A …$2.99

That has me very interested. I like it when writiers tie things past and present together. This reminds me of X-Men 2099 when the X-Men faught copies of the original X-Men. We learned they weren't the original X-Men and they became lost souls. Then the Theatre of Pain, a later bigger threat picked up those fake X-Men and made them agents, leading to the big 25th issue climax of the storyline.

Im glad the dark X-men are back bc I loved them in the beginning

I don't truly care about them, if he wanted deadly x-men he should've picked the second gen, what really excites me is the return of Kelsey... I'm a fan of Lionheart :D

1. Juggs was pretty pointless in this issue...especially considering all the Cytorrak business.

2. Dazzler's new ways of using her powers are interesting, but maybe a bit too much too soon.

3. Cap using his superspeed was awesome

4. Sage looks like she did in X-Treme X-Men

I just hope Talia is going to be okay....:(

I wonder where this stroke/amnesia came from. Good thing we get the conclusion in 2 weeks :D

Yeah, that's a plus. But I am dropping the book after this arc, I hate Claremont with a passion. I might pick up the first book of his run just to see where it's going, but I didn't advance order it just to be safe.

I don't wanna drop the book; although CC is making me like this and Exiles a bit less.

Honestly, his stuff when he started this book was better than when whatshisface took over. I think he's doing fine here. And I liked his first issue of Exiles just fine, so I'm excited to see what happens there.

^Your optimism is much appreciated and needed :D

CC's first archs of each book have been/look like they wil lcontinue to be lackluster. Seems like more filler than anything else.

I didnt read the last issue, jsut skimmed through it. As far as what Dazzler did with her powers, um WHY? It looked like Claremont was trying to emulate Psylocke through her. I didnt like it at all

I haven't read the lastest issue of this (or any x-book) Will try today or sometime this week.

Okay I was forgiving when Tieri was writing but Claremont is back so
WHY hasnt there been any mention of Psylocke? Brian is going on as if his sister didnt just disappear on him. Why isnt Excalibur out looking for her or at least questioning what happened the issue she dissappeared? This makes NO sense to me

I'm sure Claremont has plans for that. Hell, he's writing both books with the siblings.

CC must really really love Betsy :whatever:

New Excalibur #17 will arrive in stores on Jan. 10 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Chris Claremont, with art by Scot Eaton and Salvador Larroca.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"'Fallen Friend,' part 2 of 2. Chris Claremont makes his triumphant return to New Excalibur with one of the most personal stories of his career. One of the team's members suddenly succumbs to an all-too-real tragedy. The team must pull together and care for their fallen friend while their own lives fall to pieces."

New Excalibur #17 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99.

Just a screw up at the site. It will be out next week.

Ive read it...it was really good...art was good.....story was good....i was alittle confused with the dodgy Professor Xavier but it went ok.
