Official Contest of Marvels II Discussion Thread

There was obviously Loki, Thanos, Doctor Strange and Desak in the final four.....the only other person I can remember in the final eight is Sersi.....

Basically, it's the luck of the draw. The locations all get pulled, and these were just remaining locations that haven't been used yet. Same way Reed Richards got lucky with being in the Baxter Building. But, if the people in the contest want a more impartial location in the ending battles, I will drop it.

I just think for the end matches no player should have an unfair advantage because of location. Of course, that is easy or me to say given I do nt have a character who has a favorable location but even if I lose to belasco I do not think it would be fair for Belasco to have to face Iron man (if he wins) in the stark tower.

Forge! HMPH!! To actually believe that guy could beat the Molecule Man was absurb!!!! I think it was my most maddening defeat in both seasons.

I think I beat him....but I can't remember with who.....

Okay, let's think back here.

Final four: Thanos, Loki, Doc Strange and Desak

Desak beat Sersi
Loki beat Forge
Doc Strange beat ???
Thanos beat ???

Man, I wish I would have kept up with that for this season but those stupid things in photobucket takes forever to keep up with regularly. And then I got so far behind on it that I just gave up.

Ok, we never got Ky's last vote. Should we do a rematch or forgettaboutit. I'll wait for Wieg's and JH's decision.

Have no idea what you are talking about but anyways.....

When do the elite 8 get it on? Pluto is aching for some demon blood.... ;)

I'll figure Ky is saying Maestro could be Sersi. Anyway, we are on hiatus until Harlekin can get back. If you guys want, I could post the battles so we can get some debates in...but, Harl will be away for 2 weeks. We just have to give him time to return and do a last minute rebuttal, then, and get to vote.

I'll be able to get up opening debates, and debate for most of the next two days, but after that... I'm vamoose. Thanks for understanding.

LOCATION: STAMFORD (BEFORE CIVIL WAR)

Basically, any information you find about Stamford is fair to use. Remember, this location is populated; so, that might effect your battle somewhat.

I probably won't get debates up until next week, guys. I am now on Internet Lockdown and will be until I finish the last Harry book coming out tonight at midnight. I have to be careful, as I've seen the two newspapers printed reviews yesterday, and I don't want an AOL popup window giving something away. I plan on reading it quickly, devoting most of my weekend to getting through it. Catch you guys when I get to the last page. (And, don't worry, I won't spoil a thing for anyone else when I come back on.)

Well, this is it. Harlekin signing off. See ya the 8th of August.

Well, I just finished the book this morning, so I'm back online. I should have some debates up later this week. I haven't even thought about my matches yet; so, I still have to research some appearances.

So, how about some non-spoiler feelings about the book.

The first part of the book was ok...but, it went into "pretty damn good" category once the reader gets to the last 250 pages or so. I won't spoil anything and say why I thought those first bunch of pages weren't as good as previous books; but, loved, loved, loved the ending. It was great to get to read it without anyone ruining who lives and who dies, unlike what happened with Book 6 for me. There is an absolute favorite chapter I read....just definitely read it before people give things away.

I'm about to start chapter 9 and plan to read the rest of the night away. I'll let you know how far I get.
