Since we are talking about it, I might as well add another possible "glitch" to COM. I can't finish. I joined the Army a while back, and next Thursday I have to ship out to Basic Training. There's absolutely no possible way for me to finish, and it's WAY too long to just go on another hiatus.

My thinking was that for the 2 matches I am currently in, vote like normal to see who would win, but if I win either (or both if I get lucky) then just have the other character continue anyway instad of my own characters.

Either that, or someone can take over my characters for me if they get through to the next round.



Let me know what you guys want to do and I'm sure we can work somethign out.

Where did you go, again?

First to Moscow for 2 days, then the train to Irkutsk and Listvianka, from there to Ulan Bataar (Mongolia), spent 3 days there and then off again with the train for 5 days in Beijing.

Wow, that's pretty awesome ky, joining the army. Good luck with that. It does pose a bit of a problem, true. I don't entirely feel comfortable advancing with Thor anyway if I lose, but we'll see what Phaed comes up with. In some ways it's not much different from other people dropping out.

Any hoo... sucks about not being able to finish the tourney though. If we take this as you 'dropping out' for lack of better terms, we typically divy up the characters, but that doesn't feel right this late in the game. And if others disagree, I think whoever your character is facing should get your character and they can choose who to move on with.

Otherwise... hmm, I don't know. I'm tired. Worked 6 straight 11 hour days. Brain don't work, broke, fudd.

I agree that my two matches right now are against Phaedrus and Harlekin, if either of my characters win, they just take over that respected character. But it's up to you guys to decide what you do.

I would like to continue voting though like nothign will happen just to see if either one of them can win though if that's okay. It helps satisfy the competetive bastard in me.

Harlekin, That is quite a trip you had. How much time did you spend on the train. From Holand to Beijing on the train was something I never thought of. Was it the Orient Express?

And how was Beijing? I heard there is allot of building going on and you must have seen many preparations for the Olympics next year.

Ah, Ahura, I took the plane to Moscow. Otherwise, I believe the official name was the Trans-Siberia express, and in total I spent... 6 days in the train. Three days from Moscow to Irkutsk. One day and a bit from Irkutsk to Ulan Bataar. Another day and a half to Beijing from Ulan Bataar.

Beijing is a very claustrophobic city. It's immensely busy, and there's people literally everywhere. There's a lot of building going on, as you said, and they were busy with the preparations for the one-year-countdown-to-the-olympics thing they did on the 8th of August on the Tianmen Square. Unfortunately, we left Beijing before the actual event.

Otherwise, the Chinese are very proud of the Olympics coming to their town, so there's quite a bit of merchandise being thrown around. You can't walk a corner without having a T-shirt of the olympics thrown into your face (for a buck, of course). We could also see one of the stadiums being built while we were in the train.

It was quite the experience to say the least.

Phaed, if I may make a suggestion, why not organise the final four in 2 sessions. One you could start right away and the other one when I get back (that is assuming I win this round).

I don't think so as I now have to leave Monday to go back up for my security clearance interviews. So I most liekly won't be on monday evening onward. Plus, Ahura is leaving for a trip also. As much as I'd like to stay and debate, I just don't think it is possible.

Sorry I was away. My computer at home bit the bullet, and I think my 5 year old did something to it. So, we are working with a new computer I'm trying to understand. Currently, I'm having big trouble downloading Bittorrent onto this thing to make it work. Why do new things only become more complicated?

Anyway, the question I needed to have JH answer has been answered. The next location is Stark Tower, and I know the Ahura had reservations about it being used, especially with the possibility that Iron Man would still be in the contest. JH understands Ahura's concerns, but notes that is the way of the game, and doesn't want to change the rules to suit one character or player. So, Stark Tower will be the location of this week's battle. When I get to work tomorrow, the matches and location will be done. (I"d do it here, but don't want to deal with the hassle with this new computer yet.)
