Damn, this is not a good week for me when it comes to CoM. I really expected Mercy to take Skullfire by a landslide for one. Same with Armageddon. Prodigy and Hisako are actually ones that surprise me.

Once voting closes, unless there is a massive swing I will be taking 5 out of 6 characters so far into the 2nd round.

I've got some nightmare 2nd round matches though. Forge Vs Polaris alone is causing me to don brown trowsers...

I'm surprised by Skullfire too. I was expecting to lose that fight, and was just hoping to make it close. Mercy could have made it pretty far.

But now Skullfire will have to.

Mercy really surprises me. But, Armageddon doesn't, for two simple reasons: One, there is very little information to go on...and, that's a problem for both Armageddons in this contest. (I thought we were pretty good about having bios on all the characters this year; just not sure how they slipped through the cracks.) Secondly, and more importantly, prep time is very suited for Beast. Like with Dark Beast last season, he went pretty far due to his ability to make formulas during prep to deal with hard to handle characters.

I don't think it's a great idea to be honest. I could get a lot of extra people to vote in these matches but I just don't believe that people who click on the sig will always read the debates fully before voting unless they commit to doing so beforehand. The more people who vote without reading all the debates, the less meaning the competition has. I'm sure some will just look at which charcacters they prefer/have heard of and vote accordingly.

Anyway, I noticed we have different vote totals in the four threads. FYI, the following participants need to still vote in the following threads:

Iceman/Psylocke - Threads 2, 3, & 4
DarkHellRider - Threads 1,3,& 4
Zoken - Threads 1,3, & 4

We also haven't heard from Midnight Ice.

Voting is still open for 17 more hours.

(BTW, I'm not sure if you are emailing those who haven't voted yet, Hippy. If you haven't, let me know, and I'll send a friendly reminder.)

does that mean his matches are forfeits? Or o they simply go to a vote with only one debate?

They'll still get voted on because he may have characters that can win without debate.

Then at the end of the round, any characters he has left will be distributed to the remaining owners. Those with the worst records will probably get the first of the leftovers.

Stryfe's alright I was looking at Prowler, I could use him and maybe Guardian and Aurora, other then that I would say just pull all his characters out of the competition and let who every they vs. move on.

No, we'll stick with how it's been since last season. If someone drops out, then their characters get distributed at the end of the round. I think we made one acception by letting someone take over their character mid season (I think it was Brodie who took over a team toward the mid to late season 1, but didn't follow through with it). If Phaed is okay with it, I'm up to just letting someone new take over his team, being that he's only had a few characters played so far, but it'd have to be fairly soon, and he/she would take over AS's loss record as well.


And as for the characters during Prep-time... Back in season 1 I had it so that you get NO help form ANYONE for the tourney... 1 on 1 from the get go. I still kinda hold true to this now. As several have said, people like Kingpin and Mandarin should have whatever information they have on disc somewhere, or have it at least somewhere where they can retreive it. Now if this is too much of a problem then I can allow some wiggle room (using the 'use common sense' rule I had stated). That was the idea of my ruling on that stuff.

As for the rules I had previously stated toward no people, that was mostly refering to using items as resources, not as getting information. I don't think I really clarified that as well... so as I said, I'm flexible on it if it suits most.


And lastly.... I didn't even know Pickler had a CD coming out! I was a McPhee man myself... she purdy.

Hey guys. I want to apologize for the lack of debating from me. I have had an insane amount of work to do on projects and tests to study for.(I know, I know, bad excuse.) I kinda came up with a strategy for Wasp but never got a chance to post. Oh well, the person who debates deserves the win. I will make sure to debate on my upcoming matches!


Speaking of matches, West Virginia is goona lose to UofL tonight (hopefully), its gonna be a great game.

Yeah, I like all the pics in it. I have had this avvy for a while and still love it. I would love to get it to be 75 X 75, but I can't do it and I have asked in a couple of threads but no responses yet.

That's strange. I think it's relatively easy to change the size if everything else stays the same. Maybe they're just busy at the moment. I'll look forward to hopefully seeing you around a bit more as the competition goes on
