Official Contest of Marvels II Discussion Thread

I've had my 360 for a year now, but I don't do online gameplay. I just can't see shelling out money for an already expensive game. Plus, I figure I'd just get my butt kicked, as I only play video games every once in a while.

So you prefer to get your butt kicked here instead. :yay:

I think Live can match opponents so if you're awful, you'll play against someone equally awful.

I thought the same thing when I got Unreal 2004 and then I started playing and I realized everone who was beating me was on 24 hours and had no life at all and it made me feel good about myself :D.

Dude, is Live free?

£40/$60 a year I think, which isn't bad, 3.33 pound a month for fully maintained servers etc. Plus all the extra functionality

Cool. I should be getting a 360 soon.

Do you use a wireless connection? I'm trying to sort mine out at the moment but I don't think I've got everything I need to connect. :cmad:

Gears of War definitely lives up to the Hype.

At the moment I'll settle for wired.

I don't suppose you can be bothered to explain how to connect it all. :csad:

No different to your pc really, plug the ethernet cable into the back and the other end goes into your router. Or do you mean getting set up with x-box live?

Yeah that's what I've done but it keeps failing to connect. Do I need to get a subscription to XBox Live Gold before it will work?

Right now, they were having some real good Black Friday prices on the 360 in the states. I saw many ads that had them on sale at $299.99. I'm definitely holding out getting the PS3. They will only have a couple good games for quite a while; and, for those who don't have it yet, the 360 has quite a few really good games you can buy.

Oblivion - possibly my fav. Even a bad video game player, like myself, can do fairly well with this. Plus, you don't have to follow the main game. I love the side missions more than the main story. Definitely, you can play this game for 100 hours.

Gears of War - This game looks great!!! I've only watched my boy play it so far; and, my only complaint is I hate the motion switches for the game. I'm hoping they are adjustable. Also, I get motion sickness with some games, and this looks like it might be one of them. Basically, if it is, I am unable to play. I just get so sick to my stomach, I'm out for about an hour.

Rainbow Six Vegas - Just started playing this, and I love it. I'm not in Vegas yet; but, I can't wait to be fighting terrorists in a casino. The only thing I get tired of is the amount of war-type games that come out all the time. Love Call Of Duty 3, but after awhile, it's just another war game.

Dead Rising - One of the coolest Zombie games ever made. The only downside is that you need a nice-size tv, as the words are very, very small to read. This game just has great replay value, too.

Saints Row - Sure, a rip-off of Grand Theft Auto, but fun none-the-less.

Fight Night 3 - I am not a boxing fan in the least...but, this game is just plain fun, especially if you have a buddy to go up against.

Prey - This game gives me motion sickness, but I'd recommend it to people. It's got some real cool tricks in it you probably haven't seen in a video game. If you can, I've seen it for 39.99. If you can find it for at least that price, you might enjoy it.

Burnout Revenge - My boy and I have so much fun with this game. I'm not big into racing games; but, this is fun to just crash your way through a game and see how much damage you can do.

Kameo - I haven't bought this yet; but, those who have played it really seem to enjoy it. I'm going to have to give it a try, as I've seen it for as low as 19.99 recently at Best Buy.

Madden - Always got to get Madden. I'm a big sports fan when it comes to gaming. I miss some of the old stuff that the games used to have..but, it looks great, that's for sure.

I got Gears of War, Call of Duty 3 and Pro Evolution Soccer with the console. I've just ordered Oblivion, Burnout and Marvel Ultimate Alliance (which should be compulsory for everyone in COM :)).

Geez, how can I forget these two:

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - From the opening animation, I was hooked. Then, I got to play as Deadpool, and this game was everything I ever wanted in a Marvel video game. You can get it on all the systems; but, if you can get all these great games, you might as well go with the one with the most to offer.

Star Wars Lego II - My boy loves this game, and I must admit it's real fun and addictive. I'd love to see Marvel Lego...that would be cool.

Has anyone heard about the 3.99 games that Burger King is selling with a value meal? Any good, or not worth even 3.99?

But this game, it's kind of weird with the controls but so much fun. Imagine an n64 game but with 360 graphics

The problem would be that if I knew in Round 2 what would happen in the future to a Marvel superhero in comics before the contest began, I would have changed my wishlist. Plus, after events like Annihilation and Civil War end, a character might suddenly become too "uber," and it could change the entire complex of the game.
Which is exactly why I noted that barring any significant change, we should update the characters. A lot of characters remain unchanged in character and powers, and should be able to get a chance then to use info post-Civil War. It could be a little selective though, I'll grant you that.

I heard to not bother.

Sorry to whoever I'm debating against this week. I've been distracted but will get my debates up tomorrow morning/afternoon.

I just wanted to apologize if I offended anyone yesterday. For some reason, I was just crabby all day; even my family said I was unusually cranky. So, I'm sorry. I'm much, much better now.

Yeah, kinda lost my cool too I think. So yeah, sorry to anyone I may have offended... specifically Phaed.

Hugs?

An exception being a character like Nova.
