And I'm just going to ask for clarification.... his Goblin Queen... she's the Mutant X version, right?

You'll have to ask Phaed, as I don't recall making that judgement. I don't know much about her cat so I don't know why it would have been not allowed. We never really discussed pets in the rules so it may be a bit of a grey area that the two of us have differant oppinions of. If that's the case we'll have to rectify that.
 
Until we set up a definite rule, the safest bet is to write up the battle with both conditions. How the character would fight with the pet, and if the pet isn't allowed.

I know it's extra work, but that way, no matter how the ruling goes, you're covered. You're opponent can't just say 'no pets allowed' since they'd have to argue against your character without access to the pet.

Actually, I would say he couldn't have Strider. In various matches, unless stated at the beginning when we divide characters up, you cannot bring in animals. (Exception would be we stated Arsenic has Old Lace and Falcon has Redwing.) I know with my Famine and Pestilence, even though they rode metal flying objects most of the time, I didn't include it. Our version of the Beyonder grabs only those people and the objects they can carry on their person. (The reason Agatha's cat wasn't allowed.)

Yeah, the only time mascots are allowed is if we allow them when characters are being determined at the beginning of the tournament. Like I said, when we put in Falcon, we purposefully added Redwing. Basically, our version of the Beyonder just grabs the person and whatever he has on at the time. Thus, Black Knight would not have his flying horse.
 
After this week, I'll divide up Iceman/Psylocke's characters.

Also, I'm going to start the new schedule this week. So, current debates will continue until Wednesday at 8:00 AM PST to Friday at the same time. We'll see if this helps out with late debates.
 
I just heard that after tonight's episode of Heroes, it goes on a 6 week hiatus.

This does sound familiar now that you mentioned the Redwing thing (though I think the Horsemen's horses is stretching it a bit. They aren't animals really and was a definate part of the characters in every appearance).

For continuity sake, we should probably stick to this rule regarding the Strider issue too then. Hate to renig, but it's the fairest. No Strider.

And that sucks about Heroes. I just got home so I'm waiting for heroes to finish before watching it (my wife is taping it)... but I can't stand hiatus. What's the reason?
 
The reason from the production blog is that they need time to catch up and get the rest of the season ready to air in one shot

The show is shot in various locations around the country, so all the equipment and crew need to be moved around to accommodate it. Think about it, the last episode that took place almost entirely in Claire's home was really the only one where they spent most of time time in one location.

Add to that the time of producing the special effects...which are likely to be the most kick ass of the season, and you need another delay.

Hopefully with this experience, they'll be able to better schedule next season.

Have you ever had to research your clients?
If you have a bad month or 2 and get fired are you paying rent, will it mean having no place to live?
Do you have to activley seek out new contacts?
Do you have to write your own tailored pitches?
Prepare and compose your own mailers?

It's all selling but selling what I sell is a lot tougher than selling satelite dishes from a prepared script. I have to pay my own way since I don't live with my parents. This means I have to work damn hard to make sure I stay in my job and make rent. Come back when you have some frame of reference :dry:
 
Hmmm....I guess Hippy won't be sharing his pot pie with Darthphere now.:woot:

^I get it. I was gonna go with a more "Hippy and Darth won't be bathing together" type of thing, but yours is more current.

I don't bear grudges, I won't however stand for someone belittling my job or the work I put into it. I came out of uni with sod all qualifications but I worked hard and got a great job. I'm good at my job because I work hard at that. I enjoy the contest but work has to come first. It's as simple as that really.

Hey I completely understand about that. Work does come first.

I hope I will have time to rebut but it will depend on how my staff gets on tonight and the meetings I have tomorrow.

By the way, I am leaving for Kuwait on Saturday mornings for meetings on Sunday and will not be back until Monday, where I will then be leaving for Cannes for the rest of the week.

Therefore my posting is likely to be very sporadic next week if I get any chance at all.

Phaed, if you could tell me who I am fighting next week I could PM my opening comments.
