I think is a fitting analogy, [blackout]especially with the sonar cell phone bit (cough anonymous wiretapping)[/blackout] although the film does not state whether it's a good or bad thing. It just reflects on our own society, that's all.

Batman also has one rule that he will not break, and it remains to be seen whether we have the same commitment.

I can see how the analogy works... I just dont really think either side can use the movie to justify their stance. And yes, I agree about the [BLACKOUT]wiretapping scene[/BLACKOUT]. That was the first thing I thought when watching it as well, but that's possibly due to the argument over the FISA bill that is currently in the news.

I (wrongly) predicted they'd hate it, as they sort of slag most of Nolan's films. Quite the contrary--they loved it. 3.5/4 stars

sounded like a 4 star review...i don't think i read a single negative paragraph or line. Some critics seem so reluctant to go the whole 9 yards and slap a 4 star rating on tdk.

It feels completely counter-intuitive to care little about the special effects and action in The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan's sequel to his 2005 Batman Begins. For a movie like this, you naturally expect to be engrossed by garish gadgetry, incredible stunts and seat-gripping adventure. The Dark Knight has all of this, don't get me wrong, but even the most intricately executed explosion or choreographed car crash does little to shock you out of the stunning, unrelenting dark drama created in what amounts to one of the best sequels in cinematic history. Nolan takes the basic idea of good versus evil to depths rarely seen, and awes the audience with the heady psychology and physics of what happens when "an unstoppable force meets an immovable object."

Rating: 10/10

Yes, because if I we see TDK, we're all going to become killers and gangsters, just like how I became a deranged Nazi after I watched Saving Private Ryan. Defenaitly the stupidest negative article TDK has gotten. This I'll have no pity for when the Rottentomatoes community tears it to shreds.

Oh, yeah, I already have plans for blowing up a police station and robbing a bank after I watch The Dark Knight. Just like how I became a "glass-covered toast" eating Nazi after I watched Saving Private Ryan.

Wow, 93% and 8.4 is amazing. Especially the 8.4 score, only few top movies of the year have a score like that. There Will Be Blood got last year 92% and 8.4 and this year Iron Man has 7.6 score. So that 8.4 is really amazing, I hope it stays that good.

Even though Ebert is an old fart...at least he understand that comic book movies don't always need to be silly to be enjoyed. I guess the other idiotic critics think Batman should have a nipple suit and bad sound effects with Ahhhnold yelling at them. Batman is a tragic character and all of his villians are dark.

E! sucks and I have no respect for anyone that steps foot on any show there except of course The Soup. The Lyons den is lame He is pretty smart with predicting Oscar picks though.

and RT interpreted his review as negative
then they emailed him
and he confirmed that it is more fresh than rotten

its not a rotten clearly mistake on RTs part

Check out this review, he says in the 2 and a half years he's been reviewing, the highest rating he has ever given a movie is a 5 out of 5. He gives TDK a 6/5.
