here's what I don't get. It's one of those things that I'd swear is so completely obvious yet the rest of the world doesn't seem to pick up on... Doesn't Hugh Jackman SUCK as Wolverine?! I mean, are we all so in awe of Wolverine being on the screen period that we don't care whether or not it's anything like the original character? Here's what they did wrong:

They mangled his origin and tied it in with Striker (formerly an evil preacher who murdered his own wife and newborn son for being mutants... the movie version has him as a politician who's son is a wheelchair ridden mutant... see how it lacks the power of the original version?)... but anyways... back to Wolvie... he's not tall, he's not skinny (Hugh has muscles but face it, the dude has a small frame), he's not cute and loveable, he's not a leader, and he's not the focus of the Phoenix saga. What DID they get right? The hair (sort of) and the claws. Acting wise? Everybody praises him but I swear on my life the dude acts like he's on stage in every single movie he's in. He's always making absurd facial expressions and overacting with over the top eyebrow raises. Sure, comic Wolvie had a soft side at times, but he was a hardcore guy... Hugh's version isn't intimidating AT ALL toward the audience, not even for a second. I'm not here just tryign to ***** about Hugh's Wolvie cuz Cyke got killed. I'm here to ask why there aren't tons of people who watched Sin City's Marv and suddenly remembered what Wolverine was like before Fox raped him. Have we forgotten?

Well actually I pretty much kept my eyes closed everytime I saw him....so it's not that hard to miss that "Hugh as Wolverine sucks" part.

As for Scott returning in a possible X4...I'd say no. I hated the decision to kill him off ever since I read the AICN script reviews, but I remained positive.
I thought X3 was pretty much garbage, but bringing Scott back in X4 would make it even cheaper.
X3 came back on so many plotpoints already: the cure isn't permanent and the professor is not dead. If you'd bring Scott back too, it would invalidate almost the entire movie, making it a worthless chapter in the saga.
I personally would like to see X4 starting its own story: bring the younger characters more to the forefront and introduce some new ones, and have Storm and Wolverine be more like their teachers and trainers.

No no no, don't shatter my dreams~~~X4 without Cyclops? That would be the most horrified thing beyond X-Men the last stab....I mean the last stand.
And Storm and Wolverine hand-in-hand run the school and the team? Then the school and the team would probably collapse in six weeks....wait, maybe that's exactly why Prof. X needs to be brought back?

Yeah, Grail is an amazing story. Thanks for shamelessly pimping it around these boards, ntcrawler ;)

Hahaha, my pleasure! Seeing how deeply pained people were by X3 and its tragic story, I felt I had to do something to give people a chance to see the Phoenix story in a more positive light :) And you gotta admit, Minisoonoo definitely did her research and it's paying off!

There were parts in the story I could do without though.
I agree. There is one storc arc that I DEFINITELY could do without as well, but the parts that focuses on the Phoenix, Scott, Xavier and Hank is exactly the way I'd want to see portrayed.
I'm currently in the chapter where Jean rises from the lake, and thinks she is a woman named Madelyne Pryor. It's an amazing chapter. The writer nailed not only Jean's power, but also her confusion.

Yeah, isn't that an interesting twist? And the way the story is set up, you could definitely see it happening! I like the way the writer handled death and rebirth. It's shown as being something peaceful and beautiful. I thought The Last Stand novel made it cold and distant and took Jean's human side away in the process. Here its the human side that makes her want to come back! And I like the author pointing out that coming back from the grave isn't as simple as it's made out to be. For one thing, there's alot of paperwork you need to fill out with the government to explain your return! :)

I thought X3 was pretty much garbage, but bringing Scott back in X4 would make it even cheaper.
I dunno. Showing that Scott survived might be exactly what the audience wanted. Could even results in cheers and shouts of glee as soon as they see him on the screen :)

Let's face it. Of all the characters that were eliminated, Scott's not only the one people want to see return the most, but the way his "death" was set up makes it possible.
And Storm and Wolverine hand-in-hand run the school and the team?
What next? They get married and have kids?

Haha, but somehow seeing Professor X with a beard and jogging around the grounds of the school is not something I would be able to digest!

ALL IS NOT LOST.

THERE IS STILL HOPE...

there always was hope. His teammates just didn't know where to look, or they just didn't look hard enough :)

It would be cool to have fans post those posters all over the place
