HOnestly though, less is more when it comes to characters.

What I liked about Xmen 1 is that there were only 4 REAL X-Men: Cyclops, Jean, Storm, and Logan. Rogue, and Bobby were present but not leads.

In X2, it got a little muddled with too many characters and Scott got the shaft! But its still my favorite movie, EVER!

In X3, it became the Wolverine show with Storm as his snippy sidekick!

X4 should focus on CYCLOPS, with an explanation of what happened, Angel, Gambit, Storm, and Kitty. With Beast as a supporting character (he's an ambassador now)

Maybe bring in the hellfire club and Emma Frost as they try to resurrect Phoenix?

sorry, but as much as Cyclops was screwed, Rogue was. If Cyclops can be brought from death, why cant Rogue be back as mutant? An X4 without Rogue wouldnt please me at all...Gambit without Rogue is like having the Phoenix Saga revolving on Logan and Jean, blasphemy. And the Hellfire Club has more sense if Jean was there...i dont like this new Emma/Cyclops thing And Phoenix being back would be incredibly cheap. I want Scott to get his own development, not a semi-development based on a woman. IMHO.

Bring in Emma as the Evil White Queen. Don't make her good until part 5 or the end of the film.

It would be cool if they had Scott and were manipulating him into thinking Emma was Jean. That way, Famke could also have a small part. And the focus would be on Scott, then Scott snaps out of it and leads the team into an awesome battle where we see his leadership at work!!

I'm working on a new TV show, 12 hour days...so haven't been on much.

But I'm doing good. Would be happier if one of those deleted scenes on the DVD had Scott surviving...but oh well...

heh...The_Ones told me that in one of the documentries, theres a behind the scenes where Famke is shooting her scene at alkali er well for her scene when she returns and Ratner is there and he said her name wrong and Famke kept saying "Famke...Famke" and then Ratner says "Famk-ee" and Famke says "Famke, say it with me." As he walks around her, he says "I can't" or something like "Its hard to say it that way." and i know he was just teasing but she grabbed his arm and as he quickly pulls away from her, Famke kicks him. haha.

i only watched about the first 10 minutes of the producer commentary and lauren shuler donner mentions that james wasn't available for much of the movie so they had to make his scenes count, and they think he did a great job

or something like that

But James was available for 2 months and even afterwards returned to reshoot some scenses. How much more time do you need to give him a more significant part in the story?

Do you really believe his 3 scenes took 2 months plus additional reshoots to make? I mean granted he didn't mind kissing and rekissing Famke at the lake but still!

Kitty, Iceman, Angel and Colossus come as deluxe supporting roles (just as what happened in the trilogy)

without Professor, Jean and Logan, we would have time to Rogue, Storm, Cyke and Gambit shine as leading roles.

I thought Fox was clear that they didn't want him in the movie...and they wanted him to die, considering the screentime James had, not b/c of availability.

I believe Lauren Shuler Donner. If James wasn't available because he was filming a rival movie, they weren't going to bend over backwards to make the shooting schedule fit James' availability.

The problem would be James' availablity for filming the two major fight sequences - the fight at the Grey's and the fight at Alcatraz. Those would have taken those most amount of time to film. More than two months.

Scott could have made it all the way to the end and been killed on Alcatraz, but scheduling James would have been a nightmare.

Add in that without Scott, Ororo becomes the leader and Halle gets a bigger part. And if Scott doesn't make it to the end of the movie, Logan is the one who has to deal with Jean so Hugh gets the big dramatic moment.

they had reason to get rid of cyclops (logan can have jean, storm can be leader) and the fact that james was doing SR was like a blessing to them. they couldn't have asked for anything better.

ehh not exactly. If Jimmy wasnt doing superman, he would've been more prominent especially in the pheonix plot. But Halle and Hugh would prob still have more substanstial roles anyways.
