The Avengers Official Easter Egg/Reference Thread

Not sure if this is considered an easter Egg or not but during the climactic battle, Iron Man shoots at Cap who deflects it with his shield alowing the blast to go off in several directions at once. It was a move from the ULTIMATE ALLIANCE video game

I noticed that and thought the same thing.

Yeah that was awesome.

Not an Easter Egg, but did anyone notice that early in the movie Thor's Hammer powered up and gave Tony a recharge in the woods.

Did anyone think they purposely set that up for the swerve at the end where Hulk scares him awake.

that had nothing to do with that...

Ha, yeah how are the two related? I expected Thor to give Tony a jump later on in the movie for sure though. Like before he flew off to grab the missile.

MAYBE HE MEANT THAT HULK'S ROAR CHARGED TONY'S ARMOR LIKE IN MONSTERS INC. LOL

-DOOM :doom:

Not sure if this has been said or not but when Banner and Stark were talking portal Banner says something like "got to heat it up to X degrees to pass the K'un L'un barrier."

Senator Boynton

got it.

-R
And just to make a few of us feel real old the actor playing the Senator is James Eckhouse who played Brandon and Brenda Walsh's father in the original Beverly Hills 90210.

Yep I suppose it's nerdy that I know that, man I loved that show!!

Thx to Marvel_Freshman for the find:

Captain America ignoring warnings from women and jumping out of airplanes after making witty comment in both movies (CATFA/Avengers). Not really an easter egg but kind of amusing.

Everytime the "Order" or the shadowed talking heads that Fury reports to came up one of them looked to be BEN KINGSLEY. Who is now the villan for IM3. I know one was Powers Boothe and one was a lady- everytime they came up I thought the other figure looked exactly like Kingsley.

Yeah, I found it interesting that he was the only guy between those main three people whose face you never clearly see

Are you sure that this move only occurred in the video game beforehand? A lot of the techniques and combos in the game were based on cool stuff they used to do in the comic...

Not an easter egg necessarily, but something I noticed on my third viewing.

In Thor, during the scene that takes place on Jotunheim, Thor is able to keep his anger in check until that Frost Giant sneaks in a smartass last word ("run home little princess"), and then loses it.

Maybe a stretch, but it seems like a reference to that when things seem to be winding down til Tony turns his back and mutters "...tourist."

I don't think I saw this mention or really know if it's an Easter Egg but for most of the movie Tony is wearing a Black Sabbath shirt.

Yeah a nod to "Iron Man" the song.

I swore I did, it was when he was conversing with Tony, when they were talking and that clear monitor was in between them, right? Not exactly as the hulk, but his face looked greenish, and a bit distorted.

Yeah I noticed that as well.

Now I have to watch it a third time! The only one I'd recognized was Powers Boothe, the one in the middle that did most of the talking.

I got a question. Can somebody tell me why Stark called Loki Reindeer Gamess and Thor Point Break?

With Loki I figured it was a combination of him looking like Ben Affleck and having horns on his helmet and with Thor that he looked like Patrick Swayze in Point Break.

Antlers part, yes: Affleck part, no.
And you're also right about Swayze. Thor the Surfer Dude.

*edit: for those who might not have seen Point Break:

While making the Helicarrier Monitor wallpapers I noticed THIS misspell wether it was intentional or not on the CGI people I don't know but it struck me as funny. It was like this wasn't the last word on the screen and the guy was tired or something. like "oh Come ON" lol

Also look at the new plans Tony was making with Pepper at the end. It looked like they were designing a new HQ for the Avengers.

Pretty sure that they're just
the plans for Stark Tower with modifications made to designate a floor for each team member along with 2 or 3 floors in the middle part of the building joined together to make a Quinjet hanger.

I think that come Avengers 2 we'll be seeing the Avengers Tower, not the mansion.

Maybe they'll add a version of Heimdall's Observatory on the roof to create a new bridge between Asgard and Earth? :woot:
