Official Halo Thread

I'm really getting used to Heroic difficulty. But there are still some moments where I really just want to :wall: Mainly because my squad mates don't seem to understand the concept of flanking. When I go left, you go right. When I go right, you go left. You don't follow me every ****ing step and guide 2 Elites to my position, who start to throw grenades at my back. :argh:

How come the enemy AI is so freaking ridiculous but my team is as dumb as bread?

I'm trapped in an infinite loop of death. o_o The game saved right before a gas tank blew up. So every time it reloads, I have the tank blowing up right in my face.

Can't you go back to the checkpoint before that or something?

Yeah. But it was funny. *Boom* dead.. Ah, no biggie. It'll just reload and *BOOM* What the...? o_o

Ehh, I don't think it counts as cheating if you get tips from a guide or follow it. You're still the one whose doing it in the end.

I think it helps you too, open your mind to different approaches that I've found has helped me come up with my own methods down the line in later levels of a game.

I'm still working my way through Halo 2. There are some insane sections in the game, that I'm running through...or I'm sure I'd be getting killed over and over. Got my hands full as the Arbiter with nothing but Brutes being tossed at me.

The giant talking plant thing was...unexpected.

So, I finally decided to take the Halo experience online. I know most people buy Halo for the MP experience, but I'm more of an offline player. Anyway, decided to play a couple of Firefight rounds. That great online experience that Xbox Live offers? I'm not having it.

The past 3 rounds were some of the most laggy matches I ever played. I thought Halo was this big, super popular, gaming franchise. Don't tell me they don't have dedicated servers. Because the entire time I had the message pop up "Waiting for host." Even with custom settings to look for people with good connections. Or do they only have Dedicated servers for regular MP?

Firefight Matchmaking is a disaster. I've never been able to play a game without there being lag. It's only until one or two players quit that you're actually able to get through it with little-to-no problems.

Stick with Multiplayer Matchmaking. The lag issue is not nearly as bad.

FF Matchmaking is only good if you have two to three friends to play with.

Exactly..... i rarely venture online on my own... in any game TBH.

The last 2 rounds I just played were actually ok. But I can't believe the kind of lag I experienced. The controller input was actually lagging. I'm not the biggest online player. The games I played the most so far are Uncharted 2 and Space Marine. Out of those I had some really laggy matches in Space Marine, but the controller input was never one of my problems.

I've yet to try out Halo online. I was thinking about jumping into it with either Halo 3's or Reach's tonight or this week...not even sure if they're technically the same.

But, that sounds horrible man. I can deal with getting owned by the competition. But those issues are unbearable to me.

Just to put you at ease, not the entire MP is laggy. Just tried a bit more. Regular MP runs smooth, and I played with 15 other people. No lag or delay. The times it starts to lag, even if just by a little, are when you try to play any sort of co-op. Campaign or Firefight.

Finished Reach on Heroic. The last level was almost rage inducing. But just almost. Legendary is going to be a b**ch.

It was awesome! I remember sitting there being like "Oh cool, now wha- oh.... ****"

I am going to tweet that video to some 343 guys & chicks on Twitter when I see them on

Playing through Halo 3 ODST. Really enjoying the game. The style, the mood, and the music is fitting in really well with the gameplay. It's refreshingly to see a different pace with a game that is still, obviously, Halo.

ODST, IMHO has the best story out of all of 'em. Very well done.

Out of all the campaigns I had the most fun with ODST. The rest are fun, but I just didn't get sucked in like I did with ODST

I'm glad we get to play as the Master Chief in Halo 4, and I'm glad we'll be returning to his first outing in Halo: Anniversary because he IS Halo..... but something about the ODST's just felt more "real." Maybe because they're just regular (well... compared to Chief) guys and they really represent the human struggle against the Covies...

Reach was definitely my favorite campaign followed closely by ODST. I really wish the multiplayer in CE Anniversary was Halo CE multiplayer instead of Reach. I love Reach's multiplayer but I already own it so CE just becomes a rental for me.

It will have its own settings. Classic will play just like it used to..

Ah well in that case, I will have to buy the game.
