I agree, Justice League should be high concept. Morrison did it perfectly.

Morrison's JLA is what got me into DC beyond Batman. It was amazing. Johns first issue was kind of boring.

He mogered Murdo!

Almost the entire series is great. But I think my personal favorite arc was "World War III," #34-41.

That was pretty neat wasn't it

Evil bee women. A giant god killing weapon from beyond the dawn of time. Wonder Woman turning everyone into superheroes with a magic ray. Good stuff :hrt:

I loved the Rock of Ages story and the one with The Key too

Morrison's run has yet to be topped. Morrison's JLA run is so epic, that everyone that followed him, while good, just feels less awesome compared to all the **** morrison threw in.

Batgod was epic. But not only that, Morrison gave members of his roster badass moments of his own.

The whole JLA was bad ass when Morrison was writing them

I cannot think of any characters in his JLA who didn't get a moment to be amazing

Morrison even made Electric Superman badass.

Him wrestling an angel while Wally watched, completely shocked, is one of the best superman moments ever.

It is impossible for a comic book that has Superman wrestling an angel to suck

Don't forget his conclusion to Superman's career after he comes out of the sun:

Orion.

Orion did not look good in Morrison's JLA.

They just need to have the next big DC event or JL event be the rebirthing of the New Gods, just get it over with so we can get them back, bigger and greater than ever.

Wonder Woman. I re-read his run pretty recently due to the crappiness of the then current JLA title, and WW really doesn't get any real amazing moment like everyone else. Probably the most memorable I can remember was in Rock of Ages when she storms Darkseid's fortress, but that moment gets pretty overshadowed by old Batman's verbal beat down of Darkseid.

JLA Queen of Fables was a cool Wondie centric story. And it was freakin' awesome. Hilarious also when they are trying to figure out how to awaken WW.

I'm pretty sure Queen of Fables was under Waid though, not Morrison. I always kind of thought Wondie felt like a background character all the time in Morrison's run when I re-read it. Not that she was handled bad per say, just not handled past the bare minimum of being there most of the time.

Sorry, didn't mean to infer it was Morrison. I know it was Waid. Just giving an example of an awesome WW in JLA.

That's true he was just kind of an angry jerk

She did lead an army of super people against Mageddon that was kind of fab

Speaking of Tower of Babel, the animated adaptations cast for the League is:

Tim Daly as Superman
Kevin Conroy as Batman
Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman
Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan
Michael Rosenbaum as The Flash
Bumper Robinson as Cyborg
Carl Lumbly as Martian Manhunter

What the hell they aren't even using the cast from the story?

They said that it was going to be a loose adaptation to begin with sorta like how Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths was a loose adaptation of the original Justice League: World's Collide story.

And you also have to take into account that DC Entertainment wants brand unity. We have the Justice League in the comics starring Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Aquaman, Cyborg, and the Martian Manhunter. So it only makes sense for Warner Bros. to use Hal Jordan and Cyborg to be in this movie. And I wouldn't be surprised to see the Flash in this movie be Barry Allen instead of Wally West despite Michael Rosenbaum reprising the role.

I think that most of this voice cast is great. It's awesome to see Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, Carl Lumbly, Nathan Fillion, and Susan Eisenberg return to their respective roles. Although I would have rather seen Neil Patrick Harris and Khary Payton return to their roles as Barry Allen and Cyborg. And where the hell is Aquaman :argh:

Yeah the Aquaman diss is HUGE, and if they really are going for brand unity they missed a golden opportunity there. He is a very large part of this re-launch is seems and to not have him is rather annoying.

Aquaman is getting no love. I dont like it :csad:

It has different villains as well. I think it's just taking the "Villains steal Batman's contingency plans" part.

No Ra's al Ghul either

Saddened Mysti is sad ;_;

I think this is the correct thread for this - I've been MIA for a while and was wondering what issue they're on for the new 52 Justice League series? Has The Flash been introduced yet?

Issue one came out on the 31st of August. It was mostly just Batman and Hal bickering, a look at Cyborg, and Supes knocking the f**k outta Hal.

Jim Lee is doing art, so, issue 2 might not be out until Christmas.
