To tell you the truth, I'd rather Darksied not even show up to sully his hands on these puny mortals. They just somehow manage to stop whatever he's planning. Hopefully in one of those Xanatos Gambit deals.

Hopefully, this Darksied is back to his classic power levels and owns them all and the only way they can win is through a mix of brains, subterfuge, and a whole lotta luck.

Same here.

That's what I'm hoping to see but I'm not hugely optimistic about how he's going to be written

Yeah I would love to see him just lay the smackdown on them. Think we will see the Furies? I would like even Kalibak to be a powerhouse. I think what DC lacked in the past universe was REALLy strong villains, personally.

I'd love it if the Female Furies show up :atp:

I love those characters and I'd dig seeing what kind of design they have in the new DCU

I'm kind of okay with the New Gods coming back. Final Crisis was one of the few Morrison books I really didn't care for, and I just never felt it was the great sendoff for them that many did. And, of course, this is some sorta rebooty thing anyway, so whateva.

That said, taking the Kirby out Darkseid is like taking the dirty talk out of sex. You can do it, but why would you?

Indeed

If they are not going to use all the neat ideas that make the Fourth World characters fun why use them as the villains for this story

Why not use a classic JLA foe instead

Like Starro :ninja:

Honestly I'm so glad its Darksied and not Starro, I hate starro.

I can understand how a newer and more "modern" audience may not identify Starro as an ideal or feasible threat, but why the hate for him?

I've enjoyed him from time to time.

I can't understand how a newer and more "modern" audience couldn't identify Starro as an ideal or feasible threat. IT"S A GIANT TELEPATHIC ALIEN STAR FISH!!!!

Quite frankly, if they took it in a more Aliens sorta way, it could be down right poo inducing.

To clarify, the audience I had in mind are those coming in from the movies and then questioning "Why is Superman fighting a ****ing starfish. That's dumb." Hero awe but with no real openness to the variety that is in comics.

I find it a threat due to its history.

Others may see it as laughable

Well others are *****e nozzles and they weren't gonna stick around anyway. :o

True, but I was under the impression it was those very "*****e nozzles" (among others) that DC was trying to get to stick around, and were trying to cater to those groups interests, which is apparently anti-starfish.

Is it?

I guess I don't hate him, I just find him either over used as a villain but not used to his full potential when he is a villain and therefore lame and boring. Make sense?

A little more Cthulu and a little less Starfish and Starro would be an awesome villain. Don't get me wrong, I like the starfish. But if people are gonna *****... go Cthulu.

Yep. Quite understandable.

While I agree that Cthulu is awesome, I've never been able to quite see him in the same light since South Park.

Finally got to read the second issue. Of course I love Jim Lee's art. I loved every panel that Barry was in and Bats having a level head is good to see. I was expecting him to just pull out some Kryptonite.

In the Morrison comic books though its clear the majority of his sexual relationships are casual he's never been portrayed as cheating on any of the women he's been involved with.

Which is why Hippie claiming this for a second time is baffling. There's nothing ****ish about Morrison's Batman at all...especially if its claimed that he's a ****e because beforehand he was portrayed as a man child who never had sex, which is unrealistic when you think about it.

The idea is even more silly when you take into account that Bruce's relationships with Talia, Jezebel, and Kathy take place throughout the span of 10-15 years rather than at the same time. Morrison's Bruce was with Kathy at 20-24, with Talia around 30, and with Jezebel at 35. How is that ****ish?

Could you say Bruce is a ****e now? I guess so. But to say Morrisons Batman is ****ish is riduclous when you think about it.

Issue 2 is what I was expecting Issue 1 to be.

It's not that Batman never has sex. That's ridiculous, I just think that a man with his mentality should be a tad bit sexually repressed considering that he's a man with a heavy guard around him and he dresses up like a bat.

Also, it's heavily implied that Morrison's Bruce Wayne sleeps around a lot. He has slept around with far more women than just the ones that Morrison has shown. Morrison even said in interviews that his Batman has a very strong sexual appetite and has lots of it. Something that is continued in Tony Daniel's Detective Comics and Judd Winick's Catwoman. It kinda diminishes Talia, Selina, Silver, and Julie IMO.

Enjoyed issue 2, far moreso than 1.

Looking forward to seeing how Aquaman and Wonder Woman fit into the group.

I dont think Bruce enjoying casual sex or having lots of it s a big deal or anything bad personally and I don't think it makes him a man****e

Though while Bruce flirts a lot I cant recall him having had that many on panel instances of getting intimate with someone. There's Jezebel, Catwoman, that woman in Tony Daniel's Detective Comics who is so interesting I have already forgotten her name and I guess Kathy though that was only in flashbacks

:csad:

But

But he is a giant alien starfish!

Tiny Starro's hatching out of people would be a pretty creepy visual

I liked how Morrison used the Starro concept in his JLA series too

And don't forget Silver St. Cloud, Julie Madison, Vicki Vale, Talia al Ghul, Vesper Fairchild, Dawn Golden, Shondra Kinsolving, Charlotte Rivers (the woman in Daniel's Detective Comics), along with the ones you mentioned (Jezebel Jet, Selina Kyle, Kathy Kane). And Morrison pretty much stated that Bruce has lots of casual sexual encounters referring to him as a "hairy-chested Neal Adams love god".

Let's say this, if a woman got as much tail as Bruce Wayne did, she would be considered to be a **** by many, many, MANY people. It's only fair to apply the label to men as well. We can't have double standards afterall :oldrazz:

I wouldn't call a woman who had lots of sex a ****e either though hippie hunter

I'd have to call myself a ****e if i did ;)

I'm all for everyone having as much or as little sex as they want to have. As long as their partners are consenting and adult that's all that matters other than that anything goes

If Bruce wants to have an orgy with impossibly beautiful and ridiculously proportioned supermodels that seem to constantly lurk around Wayne Manour waiting to pounce on him that gets a  from me

Though Bruce Wayne's love life does make me wonder if every woman in gotham is utterly gorgeous. No matter where he goes there seem to be beautiful women surrounding him.

It makes me want to move to Gotham >.>

Well, if you're rich and handsome (And you don't even need to be handsome) you attract beautiful women like a.....like a vagina magnet.
