I'm okay with Cyborg being on the team but I really wish they had kept his classic look for the character

And I'm not sure having his origin story going on at the same time the league is forming was a great idea

I haven't read any teen titans and I'm relatively unfamiliar with cyborg, so his inclusion doesn't feel unnatural to me so far.

I'd recommend the original Wolfman and Perez stuff if you want to read more about him

It's pretty great :)

yeah I'm reading through a bunch of comics right now but I've heard that one's good so I'm gonna check it out eventually

I'm going through whedon's astonishing x-men, johns' green lantern again, identity crisis, and 52

52 was :awesome: sauce it be true

Great idea and I loved almost all the characters in it

Not a fan of his new look but yeah I see no problem with him in the League.

I actually felt like issue #4 was the best of the series so far. I also don't mind a slow moving plot for an origin story.
Really?

Issue #4 was my least favorite. Everything about it just seemed kinda rushed with little actual effort put into the writing.

Reading it, it kinda reminded me of back when Goldmember came out, and Mike Myers boasted that he had written the entire movie in 2 weeks...and you could tell, because the movie felt phoned it. This issue felt the same way.

JLA would be so much better if they were fighting a crazy dutch gold lover with the help of Michael Cane :o

Great issue. Loved every panel with GL and Batman actually laughing? How can you hate that? This is a fun book and although everyone is just conveniently showing up and teaming up it's still enjoyable.

Liked this last issue it was fun like everyone is saying.

Darkseid has 3 splash pages in this issue. Did we really need to see 3 separate occasions of "I'm a badass, be afraid of me!"? The last 2 pages of this issue were completely useless.

And his design is stupid.

Darkseid needs those three pages just for his ego, Scarecrow!

Well, isn't that the point of Darkseid? He is the most badass villain in the DC universe after all? I loved those splash pages. Very epic stuff.

His agent insisted that he appear only in splash pages

I'm hoping he has the same personality that he had in the Cornell Action Comics Annual.

'Ready your mind! There's a danger that its about to be blown!' :awesome:

So why is Geoff Johns writing Hal Jordan as Ryan Reynolds in this book? It's really obnoxious.

Is anyone else hoping that Darkseid is defeated by Superman's mighty super singing ability again :ninja:

That's a bad excuse for writing Hal Jordan as Ryan Reynolds.

Hal was never that obnoxious.

Hal was like that in Secret Origin and the movie starring Ryan Reynolds. Secret Origin being the only story besides Justice League where Hal appeared before he became a Green Lantern, had to turn in his mentor, had his hometown destroyed, and got infected by an evil space bug made out of fear. He's not written as Ryan Reynolds. He's acting like Hal Jordan did back then. Ryan Reynolds just happened to play him in the movie.

Or, more specifically, Ryan Reynolds pretty much just played Geoff Johns' ideal Hal word for word.
