Aquaman has had one scene of badassery in this book. Definitely not enough for me to justify buying the book just for him.
Can't really argue that.......I'm grudgingly holding on a little longer to see what SHAZAM has in store (but I'm not feeling optimistic). Outstanding first issue or not, this book is EXREMELY overrated!

Who's rating it highly? I'm probably enjoying this book more than anyone I've seen, and the general consensus seems to be that it's a book of little substance.

I've read more than a few times that it was the top selling book the month it came out. Supposedly out sold anything by Marvel. I can't be the only one to have read that claim.

IGN and Comicvine come to mind as sites that have consistently rated the series pretty highly, but they both have a reputation for not really having much of a critical eye and letting a lot of things slide because a given product is cool or whatever.

Actual real life readers on the other hand will at best acknowledge that it's dumb and mindless and you're not supposed to think about it most of the time. Thinking is the enemy.

that coming from somebody that doesn't like them, i have nothing against their comics section

Darkseid needs to have a son or brother or something called Lightseid. Make it happen, DC.

Apparently The Phantom Stranger is gonna be popping up in issue 6. 'Bout time he showed up. I wonder if they'll maintain the Alan Moore origin. Now throw him in Justice League Dark in some capacity.

I'm dropping the book after this arc. I can't justify spending money on this. Not when there are books that I'm sure will be on the next cancelling block due to their poor sales (like I, Vampire and Ressurection Man) that are better written than this ****. Therefore worthy of my cash.

How so?
Please elaborate, as I don't get to read my comics until Saturday.

They should have a few panels of present-day Aquaman whining about how the god of evil stole his beard.

That was an episode of Jerry Springer once

Orion hit Darkseid with a chair and Aquaman stabbed Desaad with his trident

It was amazing :awesome:

I don't think it's Zealot; unless it's another visual reintrepratation but then wait that means her sorcery got way advance. Also since she remembers pre-Flashpoint wouldn't she remember her relationships with Voodoo and Grifter?

She had a relationship with Voodoo?

I need to know the comic books where this happened :atp:

it's just gonna be Orion in drag

I like this idea

And it would explain where Darkseid's mini skirt went :o

I'm fine with Justice League. It's like a Michael Bay film, little character development, but on the flipside, "LUK AT DEM 'SPLOSHUNS!"

How was the conclusion to the first arc was it any good or terrible

It was an ok issue but of course really quick. Though this basically showed that the league didnt need Supes to take down Darkseid which was nice since WW/AM handled him nicely. And ofcourse we have to waste 4 pages of Hal complaining about how everyone thinks they are friends and a group which they are not and he has a whole universe to protect.

Pandoras backup was interesting enough though.
