Official New Avengers Discussion Thread!

Preview's up for next issue - Bobbie has a point; why is Clint puking? Residual chaos magic in him or something?

Yeah, from way back when he found Wanda and opened that magic door :whatever:

oh ,.... you work at being wrong don't you.

I have to remember to read between bites,... choking or breathing green tea just doesn't work for me.

This power draining business doesn't make any sense. It took down Sentry and Ares, wtf.

And what's wrong w/ Cage's heart?

Was a little disappointed that this was more a Dark Avengers issue than a New Avengers one. There were 12 pages with no new Avengers even in panel (except I think one or two panels with a couple of them lying on the ground in the background), and only 10 with any New Avengers, and two of them were a one panel double page spread.

I'm not very familiar with Cage's backstory, but isn't there something wrong with his heart that his powers helps him with?

I didn't really understand it myself. With Sentry, it sorta made sense, with Ares, it didn't.

Maybe Cage is prone to heart disease?

Maybe it's S.P.I.N. tech, but at this point it's just this ridiculous plot device. How does Stark possess an appliance capable of stripping gods of their power?

And how has he not used it countless times when he was in charge? S.P.I.N required entry into the blood stream - this is way beyond that. And I can't see how Harrow is smarter than Stark to be able to take the tech further than Stark did/could

Ah yes, forgot about the blood thing. Btw, does Thing know about this, cuz he'll be mighty pissed to find out there's a cure for him and Reed just didn't tell him

Because gods are just another brand of superhuman in the Marvel universe. Lame, huh?

S.P.I.N. was also shown to have an improvable counterpart past Stark's original version in the hands of Hydra, so there's a chance Stark's been working on it since then to improve it himself. And it could simply be the guy understood it, fixed it up a bit, and just claimed credit for it (It's not like we haven't seen that before), or just had more time than Stark did.

Though cloning them doesn't get the same effect as cloning regular superhumans. =/

It's the only way that the MU can make sense. How could you have characters who are religious if there are norse gods living on earth disproving all other religions?

They have shown them to co-exist with all the other ones. So really, they still function just like they're supposed to, they just are also some breed.

They're not disproving anything. There are Roman/Greek gods, Celtic gods, Aztec gods, and all other manner of gods living on Earth as well. Who's to say the Judeo-Christian God isn't dicking around the universe as well?

He'd have been boring, though. He'd just sit in the back whining about how they should really try to talk things out and s***.
